Sunny Sentiments Birthday Card

Today’s card was created using the Sunny Sentiments cling stamp set by Stampin’ Up! All of the sentiments in this set are fabulous – but the Birthday one I especially love because “all the best things” leaves this sentiment open to be used with such a wide variety of images – puppies, flowers, cocktails, chocolate, family & friends, and of course the gorgeous mountains.

I paired this sentiment set with the Mountain Air stamps et and Majestic Mountains dies. These long stamps fit perfectly across a card front (both vertical or horizontal) and make for fast but stunning cards.

I stamped the mountains in Smoky Slate and the trees in Just Jade. Then I added some Metallic Mesh Ribbon to fill the space below and some Soft Succulent Ink for the birds in the sky.

The sentiment was heat embossed on Soft Succulent cardstock. Embossing an image always makes it pop for me. I keep my embossing powder out in trays and ready to use – which means it is easy to do, so I emboss a lot more than if I kept them packed away.

Lighthearted Birthday Card

I have been so focused on creating Christmas cards for the rapidly approaching season that I have fallen short on Birthday cards in my stash. Time to refocus. Here is a birthday card I created using the Lighthearted Lines stamp set.

The colour scheme was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiment Colour Challenge (HSSCC375).

To start I used blending brushes and one of Stampin’ Up!’s awesome masks to create the background. I blended Rich Razzle berry and Misty Moonlight. Then I attached that layer to a piece of Misty Moonlight and attached it all to a Smoky SLate background.

Next, I stamped the sentiment on a large tag from the Tailor Made Tags using Misty Moonlight ink. I also stamped the sentiment a second time using Rich Razzleberry ink and fussy cut the Happy Birthday.

The perfect touch to this card though Is the White Glittered Organdy ribbon that I coloured with the Misty Moonlight Blends. I tied it on using a small piece of Silver twine from the Simply Elegant trim pack.

Festive Foliage trio of cards

I featured the Festive Foliage cling stamp set this weekend during one of my FREE online workshops. This stamp set is not quite a full background – but close enough, so I like to use it with my Stamparatus to ensure a full stamped image.

Here are the three cards I created. I love how one stamp (paired with sentiments from Christmas to Remember) can create 3 very different looking cards.

Embossing and Colouring on Vellum
Blended Background with coloured ink on top
stamped image on edges only and coloured

1 stamp set, 3 ways

I LOVE pretty stamp sets, but I love them even more when I can use them in a wide variety of different ways.

The Daisy Garden stamp set may initially be seen as a background stamp and not much more – however I want to show you just a few of the ways you can use it.

For this card I stamped the image and then fussy cut it to create accent pieces.

Next I stamped the image on to a tag revealing just a small portion of the image.

Finally I used the image as a background but I embossed it on a bright coloured background.

Which look is your favourite?

Thank EWE card

I was very lucky to be especially spoiled this week for my birthday. This card challenge from Global Design Project (GDP308) was the perfect layout to help me create some Thank You cards.

I love how simple this layout is and so easy to adapt to any stamp set. For my card I used the FREE Sale-a-bration stamp set – Counting Sheep, mixed with the Biggest Wish stamp set and the Playful Alphabet dies.

The sheep on the background were heat embossed with White Stampin’ Emboss powder, I fussy cut the white sheep and embellished the whole card with Shaker Shapes since the Granny Apple Green matched the ink I had chosen.

I just love a good, punny card. If you want to recreate this card for yourself I’ve included a supply list below. Make sure to place your order before September 30th since that is when Sale-a-bration ends and the Counting Sheep stamp set disappears. Don’t wait!

Peaceful Prints Noel

Today I created a card using the bold Playful Alphabet Dies and the gorgeous Peaceful Prints DSP. This is the perfect combo since the purchase of the Alphabet Dies, Black and White Gingham Ribbon, and Matte Black Dots earns you the DSP for FREE right now!

I also love a good no stamping card once in a while. These are perfect to put together in front of the TV – I don’t need to worry about dropping an ink pad.

To put this card together, I cut a piece of 4″ X 5-1/4″ DSP, then I cut it at the 2-1/4″ mark. I flipped the top half over and glued both DSP pieces to a Real Red card base (8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″). Then I die cut the letters NOEL in a piece of 1-3/4″ X 3-3/4″ Basic White cardstock. I tied a ribbon around the bottom of the white outline piece and attached it to the card front with Dimensionals. I finished off the card by embellishing with Matte Black Dots.

Quick and easy!

Snowman season

I wanted to create a card today using an oldie, but a goodie – Snowman Season. This stamp set has carried over from last year – but I still LOVE it!

The background was a quick creation using blending brushes and then splattering it all with water from my water painter. This technique can create beautiful snowy or starry skies depending on your background colours.
