This week I am featuring the absolutely stunning and versatile New Horizons 6X6 DSP. This paper really does steal the show – just add a sentiment and you have a gorgeous card in a jiffy!

I embossed a sentiment from the FREE SAB Stamp Set – Special Moments on a label created using the soon to be released Waves Dies. To add some interest to the cardstock on the card front I used blending brushes and a mask to add a bit of subtle colour on colour design.

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is an awesome Sketch Challenge. Take a look at all the beautiful cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

Here are the measurements you need to create this card.

Pool Party cardstock – 11″ X 4-1/4″, score at 5-1/2″

Basic Gray cardstock – 5-1/4″ X 4″ and a piece for the largest Tailor Made Tag

Basic White – 5-1/8″ X 3-7/8″ (cut using the Stitched Greenery die)

Friendly Hello DSP – 3-1/2″ X 3-7/8″

Fresh Freesia Open Weave ribbon and Loose Flower Flourishes to embellish.

The soft colours in this DSP feel very spring like to me – which is exactly the feel I need right now since it is still so cold outside.

This layout is great and so easy to use. Here is a totally different feeling card with the exact same layout.

Awesome Otters Cards

I remember taking my kids to the Vancouver Aquarium when they were younger and spending hours watching the playful otters. We would eat our lunch there on nice days and laugh at their antics. See ing this Awesome Otters stamp set brought back all those memories and I knew I needed to have it. Bonus – I got it FREE as a reward during Sale-a-bration and you can too! Colour Challenge Cactus Cuties Card

This is such a beautiful colour combo for the TGIF Challenge #354. The second I saw it I knew I needed to create with the Cactus Cuties stamp set ( there is a matching punch too- but I forgot to buy it when I ordered the stamps – ugh!). Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge # 382 – Inspiration Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is an fun Inspiration Challenge. Take a look at all the beautiful cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

Here is my take on it.

This card is a great little fun fold. Start with a regular 5-1/2″ X 8-1/2″ piece of cardstock, but score it at 2″, 3-1/8″, 5 3/8”, and 6 1/2” instead of in half. This will allow you to fold it in this cool pop up manner.

Next I adhered the two 1 3/4” x 5 1/4” petal pink pieces of Sunshine & Rainbow DSP ( a FREE SAB item) to either side of the card front and the 2” x 5 1/4” Navy piece to the front.

To create the front card candy I die cut a piece of Night of Navy cardstock and a piece of Layering Vellum using the largest label in the Tasteful Labels dies. I adhered them together in opposite directions (Navy horizontal, Vellum vertical). The I stamped the cute van from the FREE Driving By stamp set using Memento Black Ink, coloured it with Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends and fussy cut it. Then I stamped the palm trees from Timeless Tropical using Night of Navy Ink and die cut them. Next, I stamped the thank you sentiment from Timeless Tropical using Night of Navy Ink on a 3/4″ X 2″ strip of Basic White cardstock. I used mini glue dots and Dimensionals to adhere all the bits to the card candy and then glued it to the center layer of the card front only. The light pink adhesive-backed Hexagons were the finishing touch.

In my FB (and You Tube) live this Sunday I showed a bunch of cards I created using the brighter side of this fun DSP. Then when I created I chose to show off the softer side of this DSP. Here is my creation.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #381 – Colour Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is an awesome Colour Challenge. Take a look at all the beautiful cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

I used the Flowering Tulips Bundle and a great gift card holder design by Erica Cerwin.

To create the basic card base I used Petal Pink Cardstock: 5-1/2″ X 11″, score the long side at 3-3/8″ from each end, then cut out the top corners leaving a 3″ tall door at the bottom.

Next I die cut the tulip petals out of Petal Pink and Basic White cardstock and used a Blending Brush to add Pumpkin Pie Ink to the flowers.

I put the tulip petal pieces together using Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots. I stamped some stems using Soft Sea Foam on a 2″ X 3-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and attached the tulips above them.

The tulips and the sentiment were attached to the front flap using Dimensionals. The Basic White rectangle, DSP layer and the blank cardstock to write on were attached with Tear and Tape afterwards so they could be lined up to create a border around the tulips.

When I attached the cloud layer I used Tear and Tape around the edges only to create a pocket for a gift card.

The finished card fits nicely in a regular Medium Basic White Envelope and perfectly hides the gift card inside.
