Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge # 383 – Sketch Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is an awesome Sketch Challenge. Take a look at all the beautiful cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

I let the gorgeous DSP and the bold sentiment in this FREE Friendly Hello Sale-a-bration Bundle speak for themselves.

Here are the measurements you need to create this card.

Pool Party cardstock – 11″ X 4-1/4″, score at 5-1/2″

Basic Gray cardstock – 5-1/4″ X 4″ and a piece for the largest Tailor Made Tag

Basic White – 5-1/8″ X 3-7/8″ (cut using the Stitched Greenery die)

Friendly Hello DSP – 3-1/2″ X 3-7/8″

Fresh Freesia Open Weave ribbon and Loose Flower Flourishes to embellish.

FREE with a $120 CAD purchase
Stitched Greenery Die – 155451 – $44.00

The soft colours in this DSP feel very spring like to me – which is exactly the feel I need right now since it is still so cold outside.

This layout is great and so easy to use. Here is a totally different feeling card with the exact same layout.

All of the supplies I used are listed below and on this handy printable recipe card.

You can place an order by contacting me directly or clicking on the image(s) below.

Remember that this month there are so many reasons to place an order – FREE Sale-a-bration items with a qualifying order and when you use my host code I will also send you the link to this fabulous 34 card Tutorial Bundle!

Snowy Christmas Card

Today I am playing with the Perfectly Plaid stamp set again – but using it to create a more traditional Christmas card with a snowy scene. I am also using a sketch from Global Design Project (GDP318) to inspire me.

This card looks a bit complicated, but in reality uses very few materials and only 1 ink and 1 reinker!! The tress and sentiment were stamped in Garden Green and the snow was created by splattering White Craft ink across the stamped scene. To see exactly how I created this please check out my video below and make sure to follow my You Tube channel to see all my latest creations, tips and tricks.

Here is a full list of supplies used to create this rustic card. If you get a chance to shop with me TODAY ( Nov 18, 2021) there is even a Seasonal Sale happening (10% off cardstock, 15% off inks, and 20% off dies).

Sunny Sentiments Thank You Card

All week I am creating using the Sunny Sentiments cling stamp set. Today I created this card for the TGIF Challenge #340.

I used the mash up of :

  • Color Challenge – Basic Black, Vanilla, Blackberry Bliss
  • Sketch Challenge

The three background panels on this card were created by stamping leaves and dots from the Christmas Season stamp set using Blackberry Bliss Ink on Very Vanilla CS.

Be Jolly – Freshly Made Sketch

This Santa set is so cute! I love the little extras that come with him – like this sweet Christmas tree.

I designed this card using the Freshly Made Sketch #508.

I fussy cut Santa so that I could pop him up in front of the tree. I also added some Wink of Stella to the trim of his hat and cuffs so that it would look a bit different than his beard.

Frosted Gingerbread- Another Sketch Challenge

I adore Sketch Challenges and this one from Freshly Made Sketches (#FMS507) is so cute! I actually created two cards – but one of them is also a fun fold.

The first card I created using this sketch uses a super fun colour combo – the snowflakes are Balmy Blue with Misty Moonlight sponged on the edges. The sentiment is heat embossed onto a piece of Bermuda Bay cardstock and the background DSP is from the host reward – Pattern Party DSP. This card just seems so happy!

The second card I created is a fun fold card you can actually see all the details on yesterdays blog post.

For a full list of supplies to create the snowflake card see below – each item is even clickable if you live in Canada and want to pick up some new stamping supplies.

Frosted Gingerbread Challenge Card

One of my favourite parts of Christmas time is baking/decorating cookies with the kids. This Frosted Gingerbread bundle reminds me of those days and of my Nana’s Gingersnaps. I couldn’t resist creating with it when I saw this week’s colour challenge at Global Design Project (#gdp313) and the sketch challenge for TGIF Challenges (#tgifc337).

My original design used a slightly larger layer and I accented with Rhinestones. The card I created in my live video, I trimmed the Sahara Sand layer to be a bit smaller and I got bold with the Matte Black Dots. The Black Glittered Organdy Ribbon was used to sparkle up the card a bit on both.

The black layer behind the sentiment was placed there more for function than design. It was used to create a wider base on the sentiment so I could attach it with Dimensionals and it would stick to the card base rather than the ribbon that runs behind it.

Christmas Season Bundle

I love making Christmas cards and I especially LOVE this colour combo! Real Red, Old Olive, and Coastal Cabana – thank you Stampin’ Fancy Friday for featuring these colours. My other inspiration for this card was the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge (#HSSSC374).

This card includes a ton of colour, techniques, and texture. A card great card really is in the small details. I blended the background and then splattered it with Coastal Cabana ink and Wink of Stella. Then I embossed the top white layer and the Coastal Cabana strip. I inked, cut and layered up the greenery, then I added sheer ribbon, opal rounds and DSP for more interest. I even stamped the envelope – I LOVE a nicely decorated envelope in the mail.

I hope some of the tips in my video are helpful – especially on how to get great detail with this stamp set. I am happy to keep inspiring you, and if you live in Canada and need some crafting supplies visit my shop – link below 🙂

Colourful Beautifully Penned DSP

I LOVE the gorgeous Black and White Beautifully Penned DSP that Stampin’ Up! is offering as a FREE reward during Sale-a-bration – but it also lends itself beautifully to having a splash of colour added to it. Today’s card was inspired by a sketch challenge and a post that Stampin’ Up! put on their FB page.

All I did to create this fun look is cut the DSP into 4 1″ X 4″ strips. Then I added some ink with blending brushes and splattered some reinker over top. Flirty Flamingo with a splash of Poppy Parade, So Saffron with a splash of Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz with a splash of Bermuda Bay, words in Balmy Blue, Highland Heather with a splash of Highland Heather. Then i filled in spaces with the squirrel from Nuts About Squirrels and some Pastel Pearls.

A very quick card to make and great for most seasons. Shop now until Sept 30 and earn this DSP for free with a $60 CDN order. Then have fun adding some colour to your Beautifully Penned DSP.

In Your Words Harvest Meadow Card

It may still be summer – but my favourite season- Autumn is coming! Pool Party and Calypso Coral are the perfect colours to ease the transition from summer fun to cool autumn days. This card was created using a card sketch from Global Design Project (#GDP306).

A few of the details that make this card pop are the masking in the background using a Paper Lattice piece, the embossing and fussy cutting of the main word and the glimmer from both the Flirty Flamingo metallic ribbon as well as the Pale Papaya In Colour Jewels. To see all the tricks to making this card check out my video below. Dont’ forget to subscribe to my channel while you are there.
