Celebrate Sunflowers Double Pocket Card

Every Wednesday morning I go live on FB and You Tube to create something using the Stampin’ Up! product that I am featuring that week. Today I focused on the beautiful Celebrate Sunflowers stamp set and Sunflower Dies. The base of the card is made from the Heart & Home 12X12 DSP found in the Stampin’ Up! Jan – June 2022 Mini Catalogue.

The card base is actually made of DSP and is folded in such a way that it creates a sturdy card with 2 pockets. I put a Tailor Made Tag in the front pouch and plan to use the inside one for a gift card.

Check out my video below to find out how I created this Double Pocket Card. I learned this fold from a 2012 Patty Bennett video – this fold is an oldie, but a goodie. I also have a supply list below.

If you enjoyed this video, please leave a comment below and share the video with fellow stampers. Thanks!

Below is the full list of supplies I used:

**NOTE the 2021-2023 In Color Shimmer Vellum is on sale for $13 CDN and is retiring May 2nd, 2022! Grab this and other retiring items ASAP!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge # 385 – Inspiration Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is a beautiful Inspiration Challenge. Take a look at all the spring inspired cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

I love creating springtime cards! The colours, the images it is all so fresh and beautiful. I especially love to add white backgrounds to my spring cards to keep them light and bright.

This background was embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder, then I used a blending brush to add a bit of Highland Heather, finally I splattered a bit of Highland Heather on the background using a water painter.

Although the Brilliant Wings Dies and Brilliant Rainbows Dies that I used are not part of the Savings in Bloom sale – they both work well with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine which is 20% until the end of March 2022!

Here are all the Savings in Bloom products:

March 2022 Online Workshop Cards

This month for my FREE Online Workshop I am playing around with a fun technique I learned from watching Melody Hyde.

It is a way to use decorative masks with a water spritzer to add some detail to solid stamps. So fun! Grab some ink, decorative masks, water spritzer and paper towel and start creating with me.

This weekend only ( until Monday, March 14 – 5pm pacific time) I am offering a door prize draw and ordering special. If you live in Canada and place a $60 order using my host code you will also receive the make’n’take packet to make these 3 cards and a free pack of spritzers. Shop here: https://www.stampinup.ca?hostcode=RA9VCDQ9

My door prize draw to win these 3 cards that I created will take place Monday evening. Enter here!

I created 3 different cards using this fun technique.

For the first two I stamped solid images using the Hello Beautiful stamps.

For the Daffodil Delight card I created a template using the hexagons from the Beautiful Shapes dies then applied my ink pad directly to the card layer.

Once I had my solid images stamped, I cover the layer with a decorative mask, spritzed with water, dabbed off the excess with a paper towel and set aside to dry.

The key to this technique is using Shimmery White Paper instead of regular card stock. Watch my video below to see how I spritzed the layers to achieve the fun patterns.

If you enjoyed this video, please leave a comment below and share the video with fellow stampers. Thanks!

The dimensions for the card pieces are:

Thick Basic White card base – 5-1/2″ X 8-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″

Shimmery White Cardstock – 4-1/2″ X 3-1/2″

Basic Black Cardstock – size dependent on the label you will be die cutting

Here is the full list of supplies I used:

I have another perk to ordering with me in the month of March – any order over $65cdn, I am also emailing out an amazing 37 card Tutorial Bundle. Just use the host code below.

Sweet As A Peach Card

Did you hear? Stampin’ Up! has announced a 20% off sale on the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine and 13 select bundles. Sweet As A Peach is one of these sale bundles.

This card was inspired by the Global Design Project sketch challenge.

This set is SO easy to use. I love stamping these peaches in Pale Papaya with a soft Calypso Coral sponged edge.

Aside from CASEing the layout and the use of the lattice, I copied the double loop ribbon. I did this by cutting a piece of Pale Papaya Open Weave Ribbon in half then tying it in a bow.

Here is the full list of supplies I used:

Waves of the Ocean Accordion Card

I love the ocean and all things that remind of tropical places and even our own ocean here in BC. So when Stampin’ Up! released this Waves of the Ocean Collection I had to have it.

This card was created using the full collection. You will want to grab yours NOW. The stamp set and dies are an early release from the upcoming Annual Catalogue, however the DSP, foils and rhinestones are limited time only while supplies last.

As a special bonus – when you order the full collection from me you get free access to my upcoming Waves of the Ocean Stamp Camp that i am holding with a couple of stamping friends – Ange McKay and Lori Willcox. (*if you are a demo, or you live outside of Canada – we have option for you too!) See all the details here: https://form.jotform.com/leahdixon41/waves-of-the-ocean-stamp-camp

This card is a very fun fold, perfect for showing off DSP. Here is what it looks like all opened up. See below for dimensions and a video of how I created the card.

The dimensions for the card pieces are:

Night of Navy card base – 5-1/2″ X 4-1/4″

Waves of the Ocean DSP – 5-1/4″ X 11″, scored at 1-3/4″, 3-1/2″, 5-1/4″ and 7″

Blushing Bride CS – 7″ X 3-1/2″, scored at 3-1/2″

Blue Foils – 3 of 3-1/4″ X 3-1/4″

Basic White – 3 of 3″X 3″, plus scraps for sentiment and bird image.

Here is the video explaining exactly how I put it all together.
