Paper Pumpkin – April 2022 – Change is Beautiful

The April Paper Pumpkin is all about celebrating change – whether that is graduation, new baby, new job, weight loss etc… We have all those awkward and exciting moments of change in our lives that deserve some recognition or maybe even some encouraging words to get through the tough parts. These cards are perfect for these occasions. Check out my video below and see my 3 (and a half) alternatives below.

Here are the 3 original kit cards – 2 of them pull open in a fun Z fold.

My first two alternatives use one of the kit card bases added onto some Thick Basic White Cardstock to create two new cards. I cut the front layers using the largest Stitched Rectangle shape – but you can also just trim it down to 4 X 5-1/4″.

My last alternative card(s) also use a Thick Basic White cardstock base and some fun repetitive stamping to create a black and white background.

This card uses the colourful butterfly from the kit.

When you run out of big butterflies – you can stamp the butterfly from the kit stamp set onto a circle and sponge the edges to make it pop.

Graduation Card featuring the Playful Alphabet Dies

Every Wednesday morning I go live on FB and You Tube to create something using the Stampin’ Up! product that I am featuring that week. Today I focused on the retiring Playful Alphabet Dies and the fantastic NEW 2022-2024 In Colors. I chose to make a Grad card since that season is upon us in less than a month.

Here is a close up view of the incredible 2022 – 2024 In Color 6X6 Glimmer Paper. I used Adhesive Sheets on the back of the Glimmer Paper to help adhere the adorable letters to the Stitched Rectangle layer.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge # 387 – Colour Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge #387 is a gorgeous Colour Challenge. Take a look at all the calm, cool cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

As soon as I saw this colour combo I thought of the fantastic Waves of Inspiration stamp set that Stampin’ Up! just released. I paired it up with the limited time only Waves of the Ocean 12X12 DSP and since the beautiful Waves Rhinestones are sold out – I used my dark Bermuda Bay Stampin’ Blends to colour some of our Basic Rhinestone Jewels.

I love the way those coloured rhinestones sparkle on the card front.

Rainbow of Happiness Card

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is a cute Sketch Challenge. Take a look at all the fabulous cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

I just had to design with some of my favourite retiring products – these are items you definitely want to have in your craft stash.

This background was embossed with the Tasteful Textiles 3D embossing folder, the tag was punched using the Everyday Label Punch, the image and sentiment are from the Sweet Strawberry stamp set. Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge # 385 – Inspiration Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is a beautiful Inspiration Challenge. Take a look at all the spring inspired cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

I love creating springtime cards! The colours, the images it is all so fresh and beautiful. I especially love to add white backgrounds to my spring cards to keep them light and bright.

This background was embossed with the Brick and Mortar 3D embossing folder, then I used a blending brush to add a bit of Highland Heather, finally I splattered a bit of Highland Heather on the background using a water painter.

Although the Brilliant Wings Dies and Brilliant Rainbows Dies that I used are not part of the Savings in Bloom sale – they both work well with the Mini Stampin’ Cut & Emboss Machine which is 20% until the end of March 2022!
