Sweet Strawberry in a Farmhouse Chic Style

Summer is here!! The crazy heat here in BC (over 41C) meant no school today (the last day of school for my own class and my younger kids). It was too hot to even go outside and swim – so of course I went to the basement to stamp 🙂

This card was inspired by the delicious strawberries growing in my yard and by these two challenges:

I love creating cards with lots of layers, textures and colours. This one is no different. I used blending brushes, an embossing folder, water painter, DSP, punches and embellishments. A full list of supplies is below. Basically though, the white layer was lightly coloured using Highland Heather with a blending brush and then embossed with Brick and Mortar. I should have splattered it all with Gorgeous Grape ink at this point ( but I forgot so had to do it at the end and cover up the strawberries with scrap paper so they wouldn’t get splattered). The strawberries were inked with Poppy Parade (full strength for the outline and 2nd generation for the inside). The stems are Granny Apple Green full strength for outline and inside. They were attached with Dimensionals.
