Hello, crafty friends! It’s time for another Global Design Project challenge, and this week’s #GDP490 is a sketch challenge. I love using sketches as a starting point for creativity, and today’s card features the stunning Happy Hibiscus Bundle, an Online Exclusive that’s perfect for creating tropical, floral-inspired designs.
Here’s the card I created:
For this challenge, I wanted to highlight the bold hibiscus flower as the focal point. The Happy Hibiscus stamp set and coordinating dies make it easy to create dimensional, layered floral elements. Here’s a breakdown of the card design:
✨ Color Palette: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, and Basic White
✨ Embossing & Texture: I used an embossed white panel with delicate floral details to add depth to the background.
✨ Patterned Paper: A rustic woodgrain-style Country Woods 12 X12 Designer Series Paper brings contrast and interest.
✨ Embellishments: Twisted Gold Thread adds a touch of elegance, while Iridescent Foil Gems provide subtle sparkle.
✨ Sentiment: The ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting (from the last-chance Keeping Tabs stamp set) is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, keeping it soft and cohesive with the natural tones.
I love how this card turned out—it’s a great mix of texture, elegance, and tropical vibes!
