Throwback Thursday: A Christmas Card with Half Full

I’m using some of my free time over summer break to get a little ahead for Christmas Craft Fairs this fall, so apparently it’s time to start making Christmas cards! 🎄

For this Throwback Thursday, I pulled out an old favourite: the Half Full stamp set by Stampin’ Up!

I love revisiting older stamp sets and giving them a fresh look with newer colours and products.

For this card, I went with a mostly white colour palette for a soft, snowy Christmas feel. The embossed background adds lots of texture while keeping the overall design clean and elegant.

The wine glasses are coloured with Golden Glow, while the holly leaves feature Peaceful Pine and a pop of Real Red for the berries.

And then there are those gorgeous Adhesive-Backed Snowflakes! These are a pre-order product that I was able to play with early as a Stampin’ Up! demonstrator. They’ll be available to customers in September, so I thought this card would make a fun little sneak peek.

I love how those tiny snowflakes add just a touch of sparkle without taking away from the focal point.

Of course, a card made with the Half Full stamp set needs a little humour!

There’s another fun sentiment waiting inside this card — because sometimes the inside deserves just as much attention as the front. 😉

I’m hoping to build up a good collection of cards for my Christmas Craft Fairs over the next few months. Getting started during summer break means I can enjoy the process instead of scrambling to make everything at the last minute!

And while I’m definitely not ready to give up summer yet… I have to admit, Christmas crafting is pretty fun. 🎄

Coast to Coast Creators: A Festive Fun-Fold Christmas Card

It’s time for another Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop, and this month we’re sharing one of our favourite fun-fold card designs!

I’m excited to share this festive Christmas card with you. I love fun folds because they add a little element of surprise to a handmade card. This one looks interesting when it’s closed, but opens up to reveal even more layers and space for a message.

For this card, I used the gorgeous Stitched Season Designer Series Paper. The traditional Real Red and Secret Sea patterns are perfect for Christmas cards, and I love how the different patterns work together with this particular fold.

The focal point is the Hope, Love & Joy Bundle, with the JOY sentiment layered onto the front of the card.

To add a little extra sparkle and texture, I also used:

  • Shimmering Stripes 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper
  • Real Red Stitched Ribbon
  • A heat-embossed snowflake
  • A small rhinestone placed in the centre of the snowflake

That little rhinestone is such a simple detail, but it adds just the right amount of Christmas sparkle!

How This Fun Fold Comes Together

The card base starts with a piece of cardstock measuring 5-1/2″ x 12″.

On the 12″ side, score at 4″ and 8″. Then, on the 5-1/2″ side, make a mark at 2″ and cut from that mark to the far score line to create the angled sections.

The Designer Series Paper is cut to coordinate with each angled section:

  • Front angled layer: 3-3/4″ x 3-1/2″, on the 3-3/4″ side mark at 1-3/4″ then cut from that mark to the far point at an angle.*
  • Middle angled layer: 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″, on the 3-3/4″ side mark at 3-1/2″then cut from that mark to the far point at an angle.*
  • Inside angled layer: 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″, on the 3-3/4″ side mark at 3-1/2″then cut from that mark to the far point at an angle.*

*make sure you are cutting in the right direction to adhere to the card base.

The Basic White inside layer measures 3-3/4″ x 5-1/4″, giving you plenty of room to add a greeting and a personal message. I added a 3-3/4″ X 1-7/8″ piece of DSP and a 3-3/4″ X 5/8″ piece of Shimmering Stripes DSP to the top of this piece.

The great thing about this fold is that once the card base and DSP pieces are cut, it comes together quite quickly. The angled pieces do all the work of creating that fun, dimensional look!

Coast to Coast Creators – April 2026 | Retiring In Colors

This month for our Coast to Coast Creators hop, we’re celebrating the beautiful retiring 2024–2026 In Colors—and I couldn’t resist using all five on one cheerful card!

For my project, I started with a Summer Splash card base, which really makes everything pop. I paired it with the gorgeous Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder (sadly on the Last Chance list!) to create that soft, flowing texture in the background.

The star of the show is the adorable upcoming stamp set Caring Animals (coming May 2026!). I stamped the sweet birds and sentiment image and coloured them using the retiring In Color Stampin’ Blends:

  • Petunia Pop
  • Peach Pie
  • Summer Splash
  • Pretty in Pink
  • Shy Shamrock

I love how each little bird brings a pop of colour while still keeping the design clean and simple.

To finish it off, I added a torn strip of Summer Splash cardstock behind the sentiment for a bit of texture and dimension, along with a few soft Pretty In Pink Flat Pearls.

This card is a perfect reminder to grab your favourite In Color products before they’re gone!

Each month, our creative team from across Canada shares projects based on a fun challenge—this time we’re creating using a Valentine’s inspired colour combo. For the background, I used the 2025-2027 In Color 6×6 DSP on a Flirty Flamingo cardbase. I embossed a piece of Bubble Bath cardstock with the Hearts of Love 3D embossing folder. and layered it onto a Strawberry Slush mat. The sentiment was stamped in Real Red Ink on a Textured Notes die ( these are on the Last Chance list!). All the hearts were die cut with the Hope Love Joy dies in Poppy Parade, Strawberry Slush, and Bubble Bath.

Finally I embellished the card with Strawberry Slush and Pretty in Pink Gems (also on thelast chance list).
