The hot weather is here and summer vacation is about to begin. I love this time of year since everything starts to feel a bit more relaxed. I can even usually find a few minutes in the morning to get into my garden before going to work. This is the first year ever I have actually grown daisies in my garden. I LOVE them!! A beautiful pop of white amongst what is mostly green at this time of year.

Using a mix of colouring tools (Stampin’ Blends, water painter, blender pens) allows me to create exactly the look I want. Plus this card is simple enough that can make a bunch of them to quickly send out to customers and my stampin’ team. What other colour scheme can you imagine these flowers in?

What’s Cooking? – spoon full of love

All week ( well, whenever I can sneek into my craft room between writing report cards and helping the kids with year end projects) I am playing with the What’s Cooking bundle by Stampin’ Up! The stamps are great because they essentially colour themselves – so it’s quick, gorgeous stamping.

Today I got a bit into using the dies as well. It made it a snap to create this card using a sketch challenge from TGIF (TGIFC320)

I love that the dies cut and emboss on the cutting board. So much texture to add interest to the card. I also love that I can create kitchen utensils of ANY colour. The soon to be retired (and currently on sale) Resin Heart embellishments were perfect for this card and sentiment!

What’s Cooking? handmade Card

When I saw this stamp set I immediately thought of about 10 friends who cook well, sell Epicure and Pampered Chef and who just like good food. The imagery of this stamp set makes it so easy to use, the shading/colouring is already done for you. My kind of stamping – maximum artistry for minimal effort.

The actual design of this card was inspired by two challenges:

I LOVE challenges because sometimes they give inspiration and sometimes they create a puzzle to solve. Either way it gets the brain working 🙂

The only embellishment on this card are a few well placed ribbons. If you’ve seen me stamp before, I’m not a fan of loose ribbons or bows. This card is no exception. I used the twine to keep the ribbon secured in it’s loop and then I tied a bow in the twine. The whole thing is secured to the card by a mini glue dot and the label itself holding the bundle in place. To see exactly what I did – check out the video below.

Pattern Party Double Easel Card

When it comes to fun folds I prefer a card that looks great both open and closed. This Double Easel does the trick.

To create this card, I used a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock (4-1/4″ X 11″, scored at 5-1/2″) and then I glued a piece of Crushed Curry cardstock (4″ X 10-1/2″, scored at 5-1/4″ and 2-5/8″) to the front center of the Coastal Cabana cardstock. Everything else is just decoration 🙂 Have fun adding your own layers of DSP and embellishments. You can watch the video below to find out exact details on how I decorated this one.

The weather here in BC feels like summer and these peaches transport me to my childhood, summer days in Penticton. I created today’s card specifically for the Freshly Made Sketches challenge. If you haven’t tried your hand at a sketch challenge you really should. Such a great way to design cards and sometimes really stretches your creative thinking.

I have been enjoying playing with the Sweet As A Peach bundle. I am getting ready for a Sweet As A Peach stamp camp being put on by myself and 6 other demos. There will be 14 projects total!! This card was created using my FAVOURITE set from the new offerings.

I designed this card for the Colour Challenge at Handstamped Sentiments (HSSCC363)

I even used the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends and the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends (there isn’t a Bumblebee Blends) to create the orange on the Puffin beak.

The Flowers For Every Season Memories and More Cards and Envelopes are fabulous for creating quick and colourful cards. You get 10 cards and envelopes in the package ( 2 each of the 5 2020-2022 In Colours: Magenta madness, Just Jade, Misty Moonlight, Cinnamon Cider and Bumblebee). There are two things I especially love about these cards – they have white linings on the cards and colourful linings on the envelopes. These two touches I think make a card very polished.

Wildly Happy Baby Card

I LOVE having a reason to create and when I created this card I actually had 3 reasons to make it!

Most importantly – my cousin and his wife just welcomed their first child into the world – Welcome Harriet Batchelor!

Secondly I wanted to participate in two different challenges. The Global Design Project (#GDP286) and the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge (#HSSIC361).

My third reason to create this card was to highlight some of our soon to be retiring products from Stampin Up! I don’t want to miss out on a minute of playing with some of my favourite supplies. DAY 6 – STAMPIN THE RAINBOW

I have been live every day this week (Mar 14 – 20) at 10am(ish) to stamp with you. Each day I will be featuring a different colour and one great ordering special (see below).
