A Big Welcome for HSS461 – Sketch Challenge with the Cutest Onesie

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #461 is a sketch challenge, and I couldn’t resist reaching for the Cutest Onesie stamp set to create this sweet baby card!

Here’s the card I created:

I started with a Lost Lagoon card base and built up the layers inspired by the sketch. I combined two fun paper textures for interest: a strip of Timeless Plaid 6″x6″ Designer Series Paper on the right side, and a piece of Old Olive cardstock embossed with the Mini Corrugated Embossing Folder. I love how the plaid and corrugation add warmth and a cozy texture—perfect for a baby card!

The background panel is stamped with sweet star doodles from the Cutest Onesie set, and I popped up a white onesie, also from the set, stamped and die-cut to sit center stage. The tiny hanger adds such an adorable detail, don’t you think?

I finished it off with a welcoming sentiment stamped in Old Olive Ink and a few coordinating embellishments (Adhesive-backed Rainbow Dots).

Whether you’re welcoming a new bundle of joy or just want to stock your stash of baby cards, this sketch was a great inspiration point. Join us over at Hand Stamped Sentiments and share what you make!

Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop – April 2025

Welcome to the April edition of the Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop! We’re a group of talented Stampin’ Up! demonstrators from across Canada, and we hop together on the 14th of every month to share creative inspiration and celebrate the art of stamping.

This month, we’re spotlighting the stunning 2023–2025 In Colors, which are retiring soon. If you’ve been holding out on these trendy shades—now’s the time to stock up before they’re gone! *Boho Blue cardstock and ink are already gone!

💗 My Project: Moody Mauve Baby Card

For this hop, I chose to go monochromatic with Moody Mauve, a warm, rich mauve tone that’s perfect for baby cards, floral themes, and soft romantic projects. It’s one of my all-time favorite In Colors, and I’m sad to see it go!

Supplies Used:

  • Cutest Onesie Stamp Set & Dies
  • Painted Stripes Background Stamp (Online Exclusive!)
  • Moody Mauve Cardstock, Stampin Blends & Ink
  • Stylish Shapes Dies (for the stitched circle)
  • Gold Twisted Thread
  • Iridescent Foil Gems

The soft striped background was stamped with the Painted Stripes background stamp in Moody Mauve ink, adding a bold but gentle pattern. I layered a stitched circle from the Stylish Shapes Dies, added the adorable onesie from the Cutest Onesie bundle, and finished it off with gold trim and sequins for a bit of sparkle. 💫

The sentiment, “A big welcome to your new baby,” is perfect for welcoming a sweet little one—and the scattered heart details add an extra dose of love.

📌 Why Now’s the Time to Shop the 2023–2025 In Colors

These beautiful In Colors—Moody Mauve, Pebbled Path, Wild Wheat, Boho Blue, and Copper Clay—are retiring soon! That means:

  • Cardstock, ink pads, refills, ribbon, and DSP are only available while supplies last.
  • These shades won’t be coming back, so don’t miss out!
  • They’re perfect for coordinating with current and upcoming bundles.

This week’s Festive Friday card brings together soft winter textures and a heartwarming holiday message using the Sophisticated Sled stamp set. A delicate wreath, charming cardinal, and touches of shimmer make this an easy yet elegant design for the season.

The little cardinal, hand-colored and popped up with dimensionals, adds just the right pop of festive red.

I layered the panel on Timeless Plaid DSP, which gives a cozy, wintery background in soft blues and taupes.

Learner’s Permit Scrapbook Layout – Geared Up to Celebrate!

There’s nothing quite like documenting a milestone moment—and today’s layout celebrates a huge one for our family: Michael’s Learner’s Permit! 🚗🎉

This page features a mix of retired favourites and current staples. I brought out the Geared Up Garage bundle (still one of my all-time faves for masculine pages) along with the Ready to Ride 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper and Vellum Layering Designs for that perfect industrial vibe.

To keep the title clean and crisp, I used the Alphabet à la Mode dies—with adhesive-backed sheets on the back of my cardstock for super easy application. If you haven’t tried that trick yet, it’s a total game-changer for intricate dies and perfect alignment.

A few touches of texture, a bold color combo (love the red pop!), and a photo filled with pride… this page came together with such joy!

👉 I’m hoping to share more scrapbook layouts on Sundays—so check back then! I can’t promise I’ll post every week, but I’m definitely making time to get caught up. The current kits are making it easier and more fun than ever to stay inspired and get those memories documented.

Everyday Details Card | HSS Colour Challenge #460

This week, I participated in the Hand Stamped Sentiments #460 Colour Challenge, featuring Pecan Pie, Summer Splash, and Pretty Peacock. These rich, bold hues inspired me to create this elegant “Everyday Details” card using the Textured Notes dies to add some special textures to the layers.

Here’s the card I created:

Project Details:

I started with a Pretty Peacock card base and layered it with a tone-on-tone stamped and die cut background for added texture. The detailed nest was stamped in Memento Black, then coloured with Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends, paired beautifully with Summer Splash eggs and Pretty Peacock leaves. The Textured Notes dies added depth, and by double-cutting, I turned the original rectangle shape into a square for added versatility. A Basic White layer embossed with the Soft Waves embossing folder creates even more dimension, while the finishing touches—rhinestones and a white and silver bow—add a bit of shimmer and elegance.

This card is perfect for special occasions – like the arrival of a new baby. Be sure to check out the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog for more colour challenge inspiration and to share your own creation!
