Hand Stamped Sentiments 458: Sketch Challenge with Birthday Celebration Bundle

This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments, we’re excited to bring you a sketch challenge! Challenge #458 is all about creativity and interpretation, and I’m using the Birthday Celebration Bundle along with the Wildflower Birthday Designer Series Paper (DSP) to bring this sketch to life.

A Closer Look at My Card Design

For this festive birthday card, I followed the sketch layout and added my own creative twist using the Birthday Celebration Bundle and Wildflower Birthday DSP. Here are the details:

Card Base: I started with a Blueberry Bushel cardstock base, which complements the floral tones in the DSP beautifully.

Layered Elements: The background is a vibrant piece of Wildflower Birthday DSP, with a Pool Party banner added horizontally across the card and Pretty In Pink die cut flowers on the sentiment label.

Banner Detail: The banner was textured using the brand-new Online Exclusive Corrugated 3D Embossing Folder, adding beautiful dimension to the design.

Focal Point: The “Make a Wish” sentiment from the Birthday Celebration stamp set is stamped in Blueberry Bushel ink on a stitched square die-cut. The square was created by double cutting the large banner from the Birthday Celebration dies.

Embellishments: Behind the sentiment, I added a bow made with Gold Trim, giving the card an elegant touch. To complete the look, I accented the card with Blueberry Bushel gems from the Tinsel Gem 4-Pack for extra sparkle.

Birthday Fun for #GDP486 – A Sweet Sketch Challenge!

This week’s Global Design Project (#GDP486) is a sketch challenge, and I couldn’t wait to play along! 🎉 Sketch challenges are one of my favorite ways to spark creativity because they provide a great starting point while still allowing for endless design possibilities.

For this card, I used the Birthday Celebrations Bundle to create a fun, festive birthday card with soft pastel tones, delicate details, and a touch of shimmer. Let’s take a closer look!

Here’s the card I created:

Card Details & Design Inspiration

I started by die-cutting a Basic White circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies as my focal point. To add a fun, dimensional element, I placed a ready-to-use die-cut cupcake with a birthday candle from the Wildflower Birthday DSP pack right in the center. The circle was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals for extra depth.

For the background, I layered a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, a soft striped pattern from the Wildflower Birthday DSP, and a strip of Gold Foil to bring in some shimmer.

The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was created using 2nd generation Blueberry Bushel Ink, giving it a soft yet balanced look while keeping the design festive! 🎂💖

To complete the card, I added a few Pretty in Pink die-cut flowers with Iridescent Foil Gem centers, along with a gold heat-embossed banner, creating the perfect blend of playfulness and elegance. This layout is so versatile—you could easily switch up the colors and stamps for different occasions!

Dino-Mite Birthday Card for the Global Design Project #GDP485

Hello, stamping friends! This week, I’m excited to participate in the @GlobalDesignProject color challenge (#GDP485) featuring Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, and Daffodil Delight. As soon as I saw the color combo, I knew the Darling Dinos stamp set would be perfect for a fun and playful birthday card! 🦕🎉

Here’s the card I created:

Creating This Card

I started with a Granny Apple Green card base and layered a background from the Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP, which adds a playful and textured look. My adorable dinosaur is colored with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, while the Garden Green details were added using a Stampin’ Write Marker for contrast. For the balloons, I used Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and then I mixed Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce Blends to achieve a Garden Green shade, since there isn’t a Garden Green Blend available—such a fun way to stretch your supplies!

The Daffodil Delight accents bring a cheerful pop of brightness, making this card extra fun and celebratory. To add a little sparkle, I brushed Wink of Stella over the balloons, which gives them a subtle shimmer when they catch the light. ✨

Finishing Touches

The sentiment, “Hope your birthday is DINO-mite!” is stamped and heat embossed in white on a Garden Green cardstock banner for a crisp and bold look. To make the sentiment fit perfectly, I used the Stylish Shapes banner die and double-cut it to create a shorter label—such a handy trick for customizing your die-cut pieces! The stitched circle behind the dino adds a clean focal point while keeping the design fresh and fun.

Playful Birthday Card for the Global Design Project CASE Challenge

Hello, stamping friends! This week, I’m joining the @GlobalDesignProject challenge, and it’s a CASE the Designer challenge featuring a beautiful card by Janneke de Jong! As soon as I saw her design, I loved the clean layout and soft ink blending, so I used it as inspiration for my playful birthday card. 🐶🎉

Here’s the card I created:

Creating This Card

The One More Year stamp set has the cutest images, and this little party pup stole my heart. I stamped him in Memento Black ink and colored him with Stampin’ Blends, adding some shading for extra dimension. His party hat needed a little pop, so I used bright colors and a touch of Wink of Stella for shimmer. ✨

To CASE Janneke’s design, I focused on the soft ink-blended background, clean layout, and narrow colored borders. I used Pool Party ink with a Blending Brush to create a subtle glow behind my focal image. This technique keeps the design fresh and light while drawing attention to the stamped image.

The Finishing Touches

To frame the card, I added two narrow strips of Ombre glimmer paper along the edges of the front panel and sprinkled gems across the front of the card—just a hint of shine to tie everything together. The sentiment, “Happy Birthday,” is stamped in black for a crisp, bold look. I love how CASE-ing Janneke’s card gave me a chance to put my own playful spin on her elegant design!

Hand Stamped Sentiments Colour Challenge #457: Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist & Summer Splash

Are you ready for a fun and vibrant colour challenge? This week at Hand Stamped Sentiments , we’re playing with a fresh and cheerful trio: Calypso Coral, Lemon Lime Twist, and Summer Splash! These colours bring a bright, tropical feel to any project, and I had so much fun creating this birthday card featuring the With You In Mind stamp set from Stampin’ Up!

Here’s the card I created:

A Closer Look at My Card Design

For this card, I combined the bold colours of the challenge, layering techniques, and heat embossing to make the elements pop. Here’s how I brought this colour combo to life:

Finishing Touches: A few sparkly embellishments (Iridescent Faceted Gems) add just the right amount of shine!

Background Stamping: I started with a Lemon Lime Twist cardstock base and added subtle tone-on-tone cupcake images using the With You In Mind stamp set.

Layered Panels: To add dimension, I layered Summer Splash and 2024-2026 In Colour 6X6 Designer Series Paper (with a Summer Splash geometric pattern) for extra texture.

Cupcake Details: The cupcakes were stamped in Calypso Coral and then I heat embossed the cupcake bottoms with Silver Embossing Powder to give them a shiny, metallic touch.

Sentiment: The ‘Happy Birthday’ sentiment was stamped in Versamark on Summer Splash cardstock, then heat embossed with white embossing powder. Finally I fussy cut it, giving it a crisp and playful look.

Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop – February 2025 Featuring Mini Catalogue Products

Welcome to the Coast to Coast Creators Blog Hop for February 2025! Each month, our team of talented creators from across Canada shares projects designed to inspire you. This month, we’re featuring projects made with products from the January – April 2025 Mini Catalogue, and I can’t wait to show you my creation!

My Card: A Soft & Elegant Blend with Cupcake Accents

For this month’s project, I played with Coastal Cabana, Night of Navy, and Petunia Pop inks to create a smooth blended colour strip using blending brushes. This was done on a 4” x 5-1/4” Basic White cardstock panel, adding a soft and elegant ombré effect.

I kept the sentiment bold by heat embossing it in white on Black cardstock using Versamark and white embossing powder. Then, I carefully fussy cut around it to give it a custom look.

The adorable cupcakes were stamped in Fresh Freesia, but I wanted to add some extra detail, so I re-inked the bottom with Versamark and gold heat-embossed the cupcake liners for a touch of shimmer. These were also fussy cut to add dimension.

To bring the card together, I arranged the cupcakes and sentiment onto my blended background and adhered them using Mini Dimensionals for a layered effect. The entire panel was then glued to a Coastal Cabana card base for a fresh, cohesive look. For a finishing touch, I embellished with Two-Tone Sparkle Gems to add just the right amount of sparkle!

The With You In Mind stamp set and Two-toned Sparkle Gems used on this card are from the January – April 2025 Mini Catalogue, which our entire blog hop is featuring this month!

Tips for Success

Blending for a Smooth Finish: Use light, circular motions with your blending brushes and build up color gradually for a seamless gradient effect.
Using a Glass Mat & Painter’s Tape for Clean Edges: Secure your cardstock to a glass mat with painter’s tape, using the grid lines to ensure straight and even edges while blending.
Heat Embossing for Extra Detail: To add extra dimension, try heat embossing elements like sentiments or small details on stamped images for a polished look.
Fussy Cutting Like a Pro: Move the paper rather than the scissors for smoother cuts and avoid jagged edges.

Hello, crafty friends! Today, I’m thrilled to share my project for the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge #456. This challenge is all about celebrating with festive vibes, and the inspiration image is bursting with cheerful birthday themes – from cupcakes to beautiful cakes and vibrant colors! 🎂✨

Here’s the card I created:

For this card, I used the stunning Wildflower Birthday Designer Series Paper (DSP) by Stampin’ Up! This paper’s delicate floral designs and gold accents perfectly complemented the inspiration’s celebratory feel. The birthday cake die-cut is the star of the show, layered over coordinating patterns and adorned with Gold Twisted Thread for an elegant touch. To finish, I added a few Tinsel Gems for a hint of sparkle.

Card Details:

Embellishments: Gold Twisted Thread and blue Tinsel Gems enhance the design with subtle texture and shine.

Designer Series Paper: The Wildflower Birthday DSP adds a fresh and cheerful background with its floral motifs and gold foiling.

Focal Point: The layered birthday cake die-cut (from the Wildflower Birthday DSP) is both elegant and playful, matching the inspiration perfectly.

Join the Fun: Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch #455

Hello, crafty friends! I’m so excited to share my latest project for the Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #455. Sketch challenges are such a fun way to get creative and think outside the box, and this one is no exception. If you love playing with fun layouts, you’ll adore this challenge!

Here is the sketch that inspired my card:

And here’s my interpretation of the sketch:

For this card, I used the delightful Fruit Salad 6″ x 6″ Designer Series Paper from the Sale-A-Bration (SAB) catalog. The vibrant fruit designs are so cheerful and perfect for this playful layout. I paired the DSP with the gorgeous Pastel Ombre Glimmer 12″ x 12″ Specialty Paper to add a touch of sparkle. To finish the card, I added some Iridescent Faceted Gems for that extra bit of shine.

Card Details:

Main Panel: The circles on the sketch were the perfect opportunity to showcase the adorable fruit designs from the Fruit Salad DSP. I layered the fussy cut fruit on die-cut circles from the glimmer paper for a pop of colour and texture.
Sentiment: The “Thank You” sentiment is stamped and heat-embossed on Garden Green cardstock that coordinates with the colours of the DSP.
Background: I chose a soft, patterned background from the same DSP collection to keep the focus on the fruit clusters while adding a subtle layer of interest.
Embellishments: A few Iridescent Faceted Gems complete the look, adding just the right amount of sparkle.

Bright & Cheery Hand Stamped Sentiments Colour Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge (#HSS454) is a vibrant Colour Challenge that’s sure to spark your creativity! I couldn’t wait to dive in using the new Terrific Toadstools Stamp Set and Punch Bundle. To add texture, I used the Soft Waves 3D Embossing Folder, along with a beautiful piece of the SAB-exclusive Toadstool Gardens Designer Series Paper from Stampin’ Up!

Here’s my card inspired by this bright and playful color combination:

The adorable Terrific Toadstools Bundle made it so easy to create this whimsical design. The textured background from the Soft Waves Embossing Folder adds the perfect finishing touch, don’t you think? You can find all these products in my shop beginning Jan 7th, 2025!
