Flowering Tulips Thank You Card

I know it is still winter – but I need a bit of spring in my life – so this week I am featuring the Flowering Tulips Bundle. Today’s card was stamped in a refreshing, bright Fresh Freesia on a Coastal Cabana card base.

I stamped the images on a 2-1/2″ X 5-1/2″ piece of Basic White cardstock. The two step stamps make creating flowers with great depth and colour so easy! I stamped the larger image in full strength and the smaller detail image in 2nd generation ink. The flower center was stamped in 2nd generation Blackberry Bliss Ink. I used a Dimensional to pop up one of the flowers so it could also hang over the edge of the cardstock. The dies make it so easy to cut out all the blooms.

Then I attached a 1″ X 5-1/2″ strip of DSP to my stamped image before wrapping a piece of ribbon around it.

Next I attached the whole piece to a Coast Cabana cardbase ( 8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″).

The sentiment was heat embossed in white on a piece of Fresh Freesia and diecut using the 3rd smallest circle from the Layering Circles dies. I finished off the card by embellishing it with the gorgeous and new Iridescent Rhinestones.

I also stamped the inside layer of the card and the envelope – everyone likes receiving pretty happy mail 🙂

You can see all the other details of the card in the video below.

Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #381 – Colour Challenge

This week’s Hand Stamped Sentiments challenge is an awesome Colour Challenge. Take a look at all the beautiful cards created by our design team and then join the challenge.

I used the Flowering Tulips Bundle and a great gift card holder design by Erica Cerwin.

To create the basic card base I used Petal Pink Cardstock: 5-1/2″ X 11″, score the long side at 3-3/8″ from each end, then cut out the top corners leaving a 3″ tall door at the bottom.

Next I die cut the tulip petals out of Petal Pink and Basic White cardstock and used a Blending Brush to add Pumpkin Pie Ink to the flowers.

I put the tulip petal pieces together using Dimensionals and Mini Glue Dots. I stamped some stems using Soft Sea Foam on a 2″ X 3-1/4″ piece of Basic White cardstock and attached the tulips above them.

The tulips and the sentiment were attached to the front flap using Dimensionals. The Basic White rectangle, DSP layer and the blank cardstock to write on were attached with Tear and Tape afterwards so they could be lined up to create a border around the tulips.

When I attached the cloud layer I used Tear and Tape around the edges only to create a pocket for a gift card.

The finished card fits nicely in a regular Medium Basic White Envelope and perfectly hides the gift card inside.

All of the supplies I used are listed below. You can place an order by contacting me directly or clicking on the image(s) below.

Catching Butterflies – Sale-a-bration Gift Card Holder

Sale-a-bration is the BEST time of year since you can earn FREE stamp sets and Designer Series Paper ( DSP) with every purchase of $60CAD (subtotal). This season the selection of stamps and DSP are sooo cute!

Today I created using the FREE sale-a-bration item Catching Butterflies stamp set.

Here are the dimensions of the materials I used. See the video for exactly how to cut and assemble.

Pool Party Cardstock: 5-1/2″ X 11″, score the long side at 3-3/8″ from each end. (then see video for how to cut the barn doors)

Pool Party Stitched Rectangle : 3″ X 4-3/8″

Pool Party pocket: 4″ X 3″ (die cut with basic borders clouds)

Heart & Home DSP (woodgrain): 4″ X 5-1/4″

Heart & Home DSP (green leaves): (x2) 2-3/4″ X 3-1/8″

Basic White Stitched Rectangles: (X2) 2-1/4″ X 3-5/8″

Basic White scrap to stamp girl with net

The Butterfly layer and the girl were attached to the front flap using Dimensionals. The Pool party REctangle and the sentiment layer were attached with Tear and Tape afterwards so they could be lined up to create a border aroudn the girl and butterflies.

When I attached the cloud layer I used Tear and Tape around the edges only to create a pocket for a gift card.

The finished card fits nicely in a regular Medium Basic White Envelope and perfectly hides the gift card inside.

Slimline Wildlife Wonder Card

This morning I used the Wildlife Wonder stamp set and created a scenic slimline card (inspired by Helen Read) to go in our new Slimline Envelopes.

I started with a full piece of Basic White cardstock. I cut it at the 7-1/2″ mark to create an 8-1/2″ X 7-1/2″ piece, which I then scored at 3-3/4″ to fold in half.

Next I trimmed down the remaining piece to 8-1/8″ X 3-3/8″. I also cut a piece of Early Espresso at 8-1/4″ X 3-1/2″. This creates a layered card perfect for our new Slimline Envelopes.

Next I used Blending Brushes to create a Crushed Curry and Balmy Blue sky. Adding some sunny flower details in Crushed Curry with the Butterflies & Flowers Decorative Masks.

You can see all the other details of the card in the video below.

Sweet Conversations Cards

All week I am focusing on making valentines. Not the lovey kind (although I guess I should make one of those for Noah) but the friendship/ thinking of you kind. I have a class full of sweeties that deserve a bit of extra sunshine in their day, plus a bunch of friends I don’t get to see enough of these days. I want everyone to know I am thinking of them and grateful for them in my life.

Today’s card was inspired by two different challenges.

Global Design Project #325 | Color Challenge

The set I featured was the Sweet Conversations stamp set and Sweet Heart dies from the Stampin’ Up! Jan – June 2022 Mini Catalogue.

Using the same Sweet Conversation bundle and adding in some of the coordinating DSP I also showed this fun card.

The hearts on this card were die cut from cardstock (and heat embossed to add the sentiment to the green heart) and mostly from die-cutting from the DSP (bottom left sheet of mixed hearts). I love the watercolour patterns on the rainbow array of hearts.

To see all the details of these cards you can watch my video below.

Abstract Beauty Card

The NEW JJ2022 Stampin’ Up! Mini Catalogue was released this week and I am in love with so many of the sets and suites. To see all of the new product contact me to get a catalogue or check out the online catalogues here.

Today I am playing around with the Abstract Beauty Suite.

The whole suite has so many great elements! The watercolour washes and the gold accents contrast nicely with the harsh edges of the geometric shapes. It is abstract art to the next level.

The design was inspired by the Global Design Project challenge #324.

I decided to pair this challenge with this suite because I wanted you to see how much fun it can be to create with. I’m not the only one who thinks so. Myself and 7 other Canadian Demonstrators have teamed together to create a 16 card Abstract Beauty MEGA Stamp Camp. When you purchase the Abstract Beauty Suite from me you will get FREE access to this event. If you already own the stamp set and dies or don’t live in Canada don’t worry we have you covered too. See all the details by clicking the image below.

What’s even sweeter is that when you order the Abstract Beauty Suite – not only will you get access to the Stamp Camp – but you’ll earn FREE Sale-a-bration items!

To learn more about this suite and see how I made this card – check out my video. You can also try to catch me live at 9am Pacific Time on Wednesday mornings.
