Throwback Thursday: Fable Friends Bunny Baby Card

Welcome to another Throwback Thursday! Today I’m featuring a sweet card made with the retired Fable Friends stamp set—a charming classic that still brings all the cozy vibes.

This darling bunny was stamped in Pebbled Path Ink (a soon to be retired colour) and coloured using Stampin’ Blends for a soft, storybook feel. I paired him with the gentle Lost Lagoon blue/green of the Timeless Plaid DSP, a soft Basic Beige ribbon bow, and a few Blooming Pearls for just the right amount of shine.

This layout is simple yet full of warmth—perfect for a handmade baby card that’s sure to be treasured.

Card Details:

  • Stamp Set: Fable Friends (retired)
  • Designer Series Paper: Timeless Plaid DSP
  • Ink & Colouring: Pebbled Path Ink, Lost Lagoon Ink and Stampin’ Blends (Lost Lagoon, Pebbled Path, Crumb Cake and Bubble Bath)
  • Embellishments: Basic Beige ribbon, Blooming Pearls
  • Cardstock Colours: Lost Lagoon, Basic White, Pebbled Path

I love how this retired stamp still holds up so beautifully with current products. Do you have a favourite set you just can’t let go of? Share it with me in the comments below!

Global Design Project #GDP490 – Happy Hibiscus Birthday Card

Hello, crafty friends! It’s time for another Global Design Project challenge, and this week’s #GDP490 is a sketch challenge. I love using sketches as a starting point for creativity, and today’s card features the stunning Happy Hibiscus Bundle, an Online Exclusive that’s perfect for creating tropical, floral-inspired designs.

Here’s the card I created:

For this challenge, I wanted to highlight the bold hibiscus flower as the focal point. The Happy Hibiscus stamp set and coordinating dies make it easy to create dimensional, layered floral elements. Here’s a breakdown of the card design:

Color Palette: Pool Party, Crumb Cake, Flirty Flamingo, and Basic White
Embossing & Texture: I used an embossed white panel with delicate floral details to add depth to the background.
Patterned Paper: A rustic woodgrain-style Country Woods 12 X12 Designer Series Paper brings contrast and interest.
Embellishments: Twisted Gold Thread adds a touch of elegance, while Iridescent Foil Gems provide subtle sparkle.
Sentiment: The ‘Happy Birthday’ greeting (from the last-chance Keeping Tabs stamp set) is stamped in Crumb Cake ink, keeping it soft and cohesive with the natural tones.

I love how this card turned out—it’s a great mix of texture, elegance, and tropical vibes!

Everyday Details Card | HSS Colour Challenge #460

This week, I participated in the Hand Stamped Sentiments #460 Colour Challenge, featuring Pecan Pie, Summer Splash, and Pretty Peacock. These rich, bold hues inspired me to create this elegant “Everyday Details” card using the Textured Notes dies to add some special textures to the layers.

Here’s the card I created:

Project Details:

I started with a Pretty Peacock card base and layered it with a tone-on-tone stamped and die cut background for added texture. The detailed nest was stamped in Memento Black, then coloured with Pecan Pie Stampin’ Blends, paired beautifully with Summer Splash eggs and Pretty Peacock leaves. The Textured Notes dies added depth, and by double-cutting, I turned the original rectangle shape into a square for added versatility. A Basic White layer embossed with the Soft Waves embossing folder creates even more dimension, while the finishing touches—rhinestones and a white and silver bow—add a bit of shimmer and elegance.

This card is perfect for special occasions – like the arrival of a new baby. Be sure to check out the Hand Stamped Sentiments blog for more colour challenge inspiration and to share your own creation!

Throwback Thursday: Picture Perfect Party DSP with a Fresh Twist! 🎉

This week’s Throwback Thursday is all about bringing bold birthday vibes back! I dusted off the retired Picture Perfect Party 6×6 DSP, which is full of bright colors and festive designs like confetti and gift bows. ✨ These patterns scream celebration and were so fun to revisit!

To give these cards a modern twist, I paired the DSP with the current Labeled With Love Bundle, stamping the sentiment in Berry Burst ink. The label shape adds just the right touch of elegance to balance the playful background. For embellishments, I used the Adhesive-backed Sequins Trio and tied it all together (literally!) with some Black Baker’s Twine.

These cards are perfect for any birthday and prove that blending retired favorites with new tools keeps creativity alive and thriving!

Pastel Birthday Card for the Global Design Project Colour Challenge (#GDP489)!

This week’s Global Design Project colour challenge (#GDP489) inspired me to create a birthday card with the soft, pastel hues of Bubble Bath, Soft Sea Foam, and Lemon Lolly. These delicate colours are perfect for a celebratory and cheerful design.

Here’s the card I created:

I started with the Textured Notes Dies, using the eyelet die to create a custom mask. With a blending brush and Bubble Bath Ink, I blended a soft background onto the die-cut base for a lovely textured look.

For the floral accents, I swiped Soft Sea Foam Cardstock with Soft Sea Foam Ink and repeated the process with Lemon Lolly Ink on Lemon Lolly Cardstock. These inked layers were used to cut the smaller accent pieces for the flowers and leaves, while the bases were die-cut from uninked cardstock to create contrast. The flowers were assembled with Liquid Glue and then attached to the card front with Dimensionals, and the leaves glued together, then they were tucked under with Mini Glue Dots for a layered effect.

The sentiment took center stage with a die-cut “wishing” from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock backed with adhesive sheets. To complete the sentiment, I stamped “you the happiest birthday” onto Bubble Bath Cardstock using Versamark Ink, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder for a clean elegant look. This was die-cut with the label die from the Delightful Wishes Bundle and adhered with Mini Dimensionals.

Finally, I added a sprinkle of Bubble Bath Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots for a polished and celebratory finish. This birthday card showcases the dreamy pastel palette beautifully and is perfect for sharing warm wishes!

CASE-ing Jay Soriano for Global Design Project #GDP488

This week, I’m playing along with the Global Design Project (#GDP488) challenge with a fun twist—CASE-ing the talented Jay Soriano! CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) challenges are always exciting because they allow us to take inspiration from another designer while adding our own creative flair.

For my card, I used the Adventurous Sky Bundle and the coordinating Take to the Sky 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) to bring a vintage aviation theme to life. I love how the soft gray background, layered clouds, and detailed airplane create a sense of movement!

Here’s the card I created:

Card Details:

Stamp Set & Dies: Adventurous Sky Bundle
🌍 Designer Series Paper: Take to the Sky 12” x 12” DSP
🎨 Color Palette: Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow, Gray Granite
💨 Embellishments: Die-cut clouds for extra dimension

This card is extra special because it’s a Father’s Day card for my dad, who is a retired airline pilot. The Adventurous Sky Bundle was the perfect choice to celebrate his love of aviation, and I paired it with a “Happiest Father’s Day” sentiment inside the card to make it even more meaningful.

The Night of Navy and Gray Granite background creates a timeless, classic feel, while the Mossy Meadow airplane adds a touch of vintage charm. The map-style DSP layers add subtle detail without overpowering the design. I also die-cut the clouds for extra depth, making the plane look like it’s soaring across the card.

I love how this project turned out—simple, yet full of personal meaning! If you’re looking for a great bundle for Father’s Day, masculine cards, or travel themes, the Adventurous Sky Bundle is a must-have.

Are you playing along with this week’s Global Design Project? Let me know in the comments!

Throwback Thursday: Sweet Strawberry Meets Fresh New DSP! 🍓

Hey, crafty friends! It’s time for another Throwback Thursday, and today I’m spotlighting the retired Sweet Strawberry stamp set and punch bundle—a fan-favorite that I still love pulling out!

Even though this bundle is no longer available, I’ve paired it with current products to give it a fresh new look. The background is a mix of strips from the Take a Bow 6”x6” DSP layered onto Real Red cardstock. To add extra detail, I used the largest Textured Notes die (one of the Online Exclusives!) to create that stitched frame effect.

The strawberries, leaves, and flowers are stamped, colored, and punched out, then popped up for dimension. And for a little shimmer, I added Iridescent Pearls to the flower centers. ✨

This is a great way to use up patterned paper scraps while giving retired favorites a fresh twist! Have a set you haven’t used in a while? Pull it out and mix it with some newer goodies!

💬 Do you have a retired set you just can’t part with? Let me know in the comments!
