Hope Joy Love – 3 Christmas Cards & Hot Foiling | LIVE Replay

Christmas card making is in full swing, and I had so much fun creating these three cards during my latest Facebook LIVE!Christmas crafting and hot foiling — such a pretty combination!

This week I featured the Hope Joy Love Bundle from Stampin’ Up!®, along with a little hot foiling to add some extra sparkle. We created three very different Christmas cards using the same bundle, and I love how they turned out!

If you missed the LIVE, no worries! You can catch the replay below and craft along whenever it works for you.

For this class, I created three cards, each featuring a different technique.

Card 1 – Wishing You Joy

This card features Lost Lagoon snowflakes, Cherry Cobbler cardstock and a little white heat embossing. I love the clean and simple look, with the JOY greeting taking centre stage!

Card 2 – HO HO HO

For this card, I used the Swiss Dots Hot Foil Die with red foil to create the background. The HO HO HO greeting was stamped in Real Red, and those gorgeous holographic stars add just the right amount of sparkle!

Card 3 – Hope Love Joy

This one combines the Softly Woven 3D Embossing Folder with Secret Sea ink and cardstock. I also used the leftover red foil from our second card with the Reverse Hot Foil Plate to create the banner and heart. I love being able to use up that beautiful foil!

Want to make these three cards yourself? I’d love to send you the supplies!

Place a $75 CAD or more order with me by Sunday, October 11, 2026 at midnight Pacific, and I’ll send you the Make & Take packet for all three cards FREE!

Your packet will include the precut cardstock and specialty pieces needed for the projects. I’ll even do the hot foiling for you! You’ll receive the red and white hot-foiled pieces, along with holographic-foiled cardstock ready for you to die cut your stars.

Please note: You will need to own the Hope Joy Love Bundle to complete these cards, along with your own inks, adhesives and basic crafting supplies. Stamped images are not included.

Your qualifying order must be $75 or more before tax and shipping, and after any Stampin’ Rewards have been applied.

GDP568 – CASE the Designer with Holly Jolly Branches

This week at the Global Design Project, we are CASEing the Designer, and our inspiration comes from the very talented Krista Frattin!

For my card, I chose to CASE the basic layout of Krista’s beautiful design. I loved the three main elements across the centre, the layers running behind them, and the sentiment placed across the front. From there, I took it in a completely different direction for Christmas!

I paired the Holly Jolly Branches Bundle with the Whispering Woods 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper. Instead of Krista’s gardening tools, I used three evergreen trees as my focal point. I love how the Pretty Peacock trees pop against that fun watercolour-style DSP.

A few simple layers of ribbon and cardstock behind the sentiment helped me carry over more of Krista’s original layout without making the card feel too busy. And, of course, I added a few little snowflake accents for a bit of winter sparkle.

My sentiment, “wishing you a festive season,” finishes it off perfectly.

I definitely need to keep adding to my Christmas card stash, so I was happy to turn this week’s CASE challenge into another holiday card!

When you look at Krista’s card, what catches your eye first? The layout? The three focal images? The layers? That is one of my favourite things about a CASE challenge — we can all start with the same inspiration and end up somewhere completely different.

I hope you’ll play along with us this week for #GDP568. I’d love to see what inspires you!

Christmas Hot Foiling with Magical Christmas & Graceful Evergreen Deer

Christmas crafting and hot foiling — such a pretty combination!

Last night I wrapped up my little series of Hot Foil Lives with a Christmas card featuring two gorgeous hot foil products: the Magical Christmas Hot Foil Die and the Graceful Evergreen Deer Hot Foil Bundle.

If you missed me live, the replay is available so you can craft along (or just watch with a cup of coffee!).

During the LIVE, I showed you how to hot foil and cut the Magical Christmas Hot Foil Die. I love the beautiful, polished look that hot foil adds to a card — and once you see how the process works, it really isn’t as intimidating as it might seem!

For this card, I paired the Magical Christmas greeting with the Graceful Evergreen Deer Hot Foil Bundle. The foiled deer look so pretty against the stamped evergreen trees, and I love how the darker snowflake paper adds some contrast.

It feels festive and elegant without being overly complicated — my kind of Christmas card!

Here is a full list of supplies used to create this card.

Don’t forget about my October Product of the Month: the Shining Stars Dies!

When you place a $100 CAD order with me during October, you can purchase the Shining Stars Dies for just $7.

These are such versatile dies for Christmas, birthdays, celebrations and so much more. I think they’re going to be one of those sets you’ll reach for again and again.

GDP567: Happy Halloween with Harvest Hues

Halloween isn’t a big thing in my house anymore now that the kids are grown, so when I saw that this week’s Global Design Project challenge was Halloween, I had to work a little magic! 🎃

For #GDP567, I decided to keep things bright, fun and definitely more cute than spooky.

I started with the Harvest Hues Mix & Match Ephemera Pack, which turned out to have just what I needed. That happy little jack-o’-lantern and the candy corn pieces gave me an instant Halloween theme without needing a Halloween stamp set.

For the sentiment, I pulled out the Simple Alphabet Stamp Set and stamped a big, bold halloween. I love being able to create exactly the words I need with an alphabet set!

I kept the background mostly white but added lots of texture by embossing with the Swirls of Magic EF. A few little pops of orange and some Shimmering Stripes Specialty DSP tucked behind the sentiment strips finished everything off.

Sometimes a challenge really does make you look at the supplies you already have in a completely different way—and I think this one turned out pretty darn cute!

I hope you’ll join us over at the Global Design Project and create something for the Halloween theme this week. Be sure to share your project using #GDP567 so we can see what you create!

HSS498 – An Autumn Inspiration Challenge

It’s time for another challenge over at Hand Stamped Sentiments , and this week we have a gorgeous Inspiration Challenge for HSS498!

There was SO much to love in this inspiration board — pumpkins, sunflowers, falling leaves and all those warm autumn colours. I decided to pull out the rich oranges, yellows, greens and natural tones for my card.

For my focal point, I used the Harvest Hues Mix & Match Ephemera. I love having these little pieces on hand when I want to create without pulling out a whole collection of stamps and dies. The leafy wreath gave me all the autumn colour I wanted and made such an easy focal point.

I paired it with a warm neutral background and added lots of texture with the beautiful Sunflower 3D embossing folder. I love how the tone-on-tone embossing adds interest without competing with the wreath.

A simple sentiment, a few little pops of orange and that gorgeous metallic bow finished everything off.

I think my favourite thing about an inspiration challenge is that there really is no “right” way to interpret it. You might be drawn to the pumpkins, the sunflowers, the little squirrel, the colours — or something completely different!

Be sure to head over to Hand Stamped Sentiments to see what the rest of the Design Team created for HSS498, and then I hope you’ll play along with us. I’d love to see what catches your eye in this week’s inspiration!

GDP566 Sketch Challenge – Autumn Birthday Wishes

Two of my favourite things came together for this week’s Global Design Project challenge — a sketch challenge and autumn!

For #GDP566, I reached for the September Product of the Month DSP. I’ve been loving this paper for my September birthday cards. The warm autumn colours are so pretty, and I especially love how the metallic leaf pattern adds a little extra something without making the card feel too busy.

I followed the GDP sketch fairly closely, layering the patterned paper over a Secret Sea card base and adding the lighter panel for my sentiment.

The flowers were fussy cut from another sheet of the POM DSP – the perfect way to carry the colours through the card. I love how they frame the sentiment without covering up too much of that gorgeous DSP!

For the greeting, I used a sentiment from Exciting Times, then finished everything off with a few 2025–2027 In Colour Flat Pearls.

Simple layers, beautiful autumn colours and a sketch to get me started — definitely my kind of card!

And if you’ve been thinking about joining this week’s Global Design Project challenge, you still have one day left to play along! I’d love to see what you create for #GDP566.

September 2026 Paper Pumpkin – Aspens of Gratitude Unboxing & Alternative Cards

The September Paper Pumpkin has arrived, and today I finally got a chance to open it up and play!

I did my September Paper Pumpkin unboxing LIVE today, and if you missed me live, I’ll be sharing the replay below so you can see everything that came in this month’s box — plus the alternate cards I created.

WATCH THE REPLAY:

For my alternate cards this month, I decided to forget about the kit pieces for a minute and focus on the stamps and ink included in the box.

And I had so much fun making my own DSP!

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock and repeatedly stamped the leaf images from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set using the Early Espresso Stampin’ Spot included in the kit.

And can we talk about the new Stampin’ Spot design for a minute? I LOVE it! Such a great new design.

Once all of my leaves were stamped, I pulled out my Blending Brushes and added some beautiful fall colour. I used Golden Glow and Pumpkin Pie, with just a touch of Daffodil Delight here and there to brighten everything up. I love the soft look the blending gives the leaves while still letting those Early Espresso outlines really stand out.

Once my handmade DSP was finished, I cut the piece in half diagonally.

That gave me two coordinating pieces to use on two completely different card designs — and meant I could turn one fun stamping session into two alternate Paper Pumpkin cards.

For one card, I kept the focus on that colourful leaf background and added a simple circular sentiment.

For the second, I paired the handmade DSP with lots of texture, a darker stamped focal circle and a simple “thank you so much” sentiment.

I love how different the two cards feel even though they started with exactly the same piece of handmade DSP!

This is one of my favourite things about Paper Pumpkin. Of course you can make the projects exactly as Stampin’ Up! designed them, but once that little box is open, you have stamps and supplies that you can keep playing with again and again.

Get More From Your Paper Pumpkin Kit

Each month I share my Paper Pumpkin unboxing and create alternate projects to give you even more ideas for using your kit. And my Paper Pumpkin subscribers also receive my monthly alternate card tutorial as an extra little thank you from me!

Throwback Thursday: A Sweet Baby Card with Brides & Babies

There’s something extra fun about pulling out a REALLY old stamp set and giving it a fresh new look!

For this week’s Throwback Thursday, I reached way back into my Stampin’ Up! collection for the Brides & Babies stamp set. And when I say throwback, I mean it — this one has been in my collection for a very long time! But seriously, how sweet is that little baby tucked into the moon? Some images are just too adorable to let go.

I paired this old favourite with some newer goodies to give it an updated feel. An Everyday Arch creates the large background layer and gives the card a fun focal point without taking away from that sweet stamped image.

I kept the colour palette soft and dreamy, with Pool Party and Lost Lagoon and just a touch of Golden Glow Shimmer Brush for the stars. The little scattered stars in the background help carry the theme across the card without making it feel too busy.

And then, of course, I needed a little something special! The Gold Striped 3/8″ Mesh Ribbon adds just the right amount of shimmer, while a few Antique Pearls finish everything off beautifully.

I love how mixing older stamps with current products can make something that has been sitting on the shelf for years feel completely new again. It’s also a great reminder that you don’t always need the newest stamp set to create something you love — sometimes an old favourite is exactly what you need!

Do you have a REALLY old Stampin’ Up! stamp set that you still can’t bring yourself to part with? I’d love to know which one!
