Pastel Birthday Card for the Global Design Project Colour Challenge (#GDP489)!

This week’s Global Design Project colour challenge (#GDP489) inspired me to create a birthday card with the soft, pastel hues of Bubble Bath, Soft Sea Foam, and Lemon Lolly. These delicate colours are perfect for a celebratory and cheerful design.

Here’s the card I created:

I started with the Textured Notes Dies, using the eyelet die to create a custom mask. With a blending brush and Bubble Bath Ink, I blended a soft background onto the die-cut base for a lovely textured look.

For the floral accents, I swiped Soft Sea Foam Cardstock with Soft Sea Foam Ink and repeated the process with Lemon Lolly Ink on Lemon Lolly Cardstock. These inked layers were used to cut the smaller accent pieces for the flowers and leaves, while the bases were die-cut from uninked cardstock to create contrast. The flowers were assembled with Liquid Glue and then attached to the card front with Dimensionals, and the leaves glued together, then they were tucked under with Mini Glue Dots for a layered effect.

The sentiment took center stage with a die-cut “wishing” from Soft Sea Foam Cardstock backed with adhesive sheets. To complete the sentiment, I stamped “you the happiest birthday” onto Bubble Bath Cardstock using Versamark Ink, then heat embossed it with white embossing powder for a clean elegant look. This was die-cut with the label die from the Delightful Wishes Bundle and adhered with Mini Dimensionals.

Finally, I added a sprinkle of Bubble Bath Rainbow Adhesive-Backed Dots for a polished and celebratory finish. This birthday card showcases the dreamy pastel palette beautifully and is perfect for sharing warm wishes!

CASE-ing Jay Soriano for Global Design Project #GDP488

This week, I’m playing along with the Global Design Project (#GDP488) challenge with a fun twist—CASE-ing the talented Jay Soriano! CASE (Copy And Selectively Edit) challenges are always exciting because they allow us to take inspiration from another designer while adding our own creative flair.

For my card, I used the Adventurous Sky Bundle and the coordinating Take to the Sky 12″ x 12″ Designer Series Paper (DSP) to bring a vintage aviation theme to life. I love how the soft gray background, layered clouds, and detailed airplane create a sense of movement!

Here’s the card I created:

Card Details:

✈ Stamp Set & Dies: Adventurous Sky Bundle
🌍 Designer Series Paper: Take to the Sky 12” x 12” DSP
🎨 Color Palette: Night of Navy, Mossy Meadow, Gray Granite
💨 Embellishments: Die-cut clouds for extra dimension

This card is extra special because it’s a Father’s Day card for my dad, who is a retired airline pilot. The Adventurous Sky Bundle was the perfect choice to celebrate his love of aviation, and I paired it with a “Happiest Father’s Day” sentiment inside the card to make it even more meaningful.

The Night of Navy and Gray Granite background creates a timeless, classic feel, while the Mossy Meadow airplane adds a touch of vintage charm. The map-style DSP layers add subtle detail without overpowering the design. I also die-cut the clouds for extra depth, making the plane look like it’s soaring across the card.

I love how this project turned out—simple, yet full of personal meaning! If you’re looking for a great bundle for Father’s Day, masculine cards, or travel themes, the Adventurous Sky Bundle is a must-have.

Birthday Sunshine & Rainbows for GDP487!

I’m so excited to share my latest creation for this week’s Global Design Project Challenge (#GDP487)! The theme this week is Sunshine & Rainbows ☀️🌈☂️, and I had so much fun bringing this cheerful inspiration to life in my card.

Here’s the card I created:

The Design

I wanted to capture the bright and happy vibes of sunshine and rainbows, so I used the Happiest Day stamp set along with a blend of bold and vibrant colours! The left panel features a rainbow of stars, which I created by stamping the star image repeatedly and blending the colours seamlessly with Blending Brushes.

Here’s the colour lineup I used to create this beautiful gradient:
🎨 Poppy Parade, Pumpkin Pie, Peach Pie, Daffodil Delight, Lemon Lime Twist, Coastal Cabana, Azure Afternoon, Highland Heather, Fresh Freesia, and Berry Burst!

To add some extra sparkle, I incorporated a strip of Pastel Ombre Glimmer Paper and some Iridescent Faceted Gems. The sentiment, ‘Wishing You the Happiest Birthday,’ is heat embossed in white on a Coastal Cabana circle, die-cut from the Spotlight on Nature Dies. And of course, I couldn’t resist adding a popped-up dragonfly from the Happiest Day set—a little extra whimsy to finish it off!

Why I Love This Layout

One of my favourite things about this design is its versatility! By simply changing the colours or sentiment, this layout could work for so many different occasions—think thank you cards, baby showers, or even encouragement notes. The blended background technique is a fantastic way to make any card pop with colour!

Birthday Fun for #GDP486 – A Sweet Sketch Challenge!

This week’s Global Design Project (#GDP486) is a sketch challenge, and I couldn’t wait to play along! 🎉 Sketch challenges are one of my favorite ways to spark creativity because they provide a great starting point while still allowing for endless design possibilities.

For this card, I used the Birthday Celebrations Bundle to create a fun, festive birthday card with soft pastel tones, delicate details, and a touch of shimmer. Let’s take a closer look!

Here’s the card I created:

Card Details & Design Inspiration

I started by die-cutting a Basic White circle using the Stylish Shapes Dies as my focal point. To add a fun, dimensional element, I placed a ready-to-use die-cut cupcake with a birthday candle from the Wildflower Birthday DSP pack right in the center. The circle was attached with Stampin’ Dimensionals for extra depth.

For the background, I layered a piece of Coastal Cabana cardstock, a soft striped pattern from the Wildflower Birthday DSP, and a strip of Gold Foil to bring in some shimmer.

The “Happy Birthday” sentiment was created using 2nd generation Blueberry Bushel Ink, giving it a soft yet balanced look while keeping the design festive! 🎂💖

To complete the card, I added a few Pretty in Pink die-cut flowers with Iridescent Foil Gem centers, along with a gold heat-embossed banner, creating the perfect blend of playfulness and elegance. This layout is so versatile—you could easily switch up the colors and stamps for different occasions!

Dino-Mite Birthday Card for the Global Design Project #GDP485

Hello, stamping friends! This week, I’m excited to participate in the @GlobalDesignProject color challenge (#GDP485) featuring Garden Green, Granny Apple Green, and Daffodil Delight. As soon as I saw the color combo, I knew the Darling Dinos stamp set would be perfect for a fun and playful birthday card! 🦕🎉

Here’s the card I created:

Creating This Card

I started with a Granny Apple Green card base and layered a background from the Take a Bow 6″ x 6″ DSP, which adds a playful and textured look. My adorable dinosaur is colored with Granny Apple Green Stampin’ Blends, while the Garden Green details were added using a Stampin’ Write Marker for contrast. For the balloons, I used Daffodil Delight, Granny Apple Green and then I mixed Granny Apple Green and Shaded Spruce Blends to achieve a Garden Green shade, since there isn’t a Garden Green Blend available—such a fun way to stretch your supplies!

The Daffodil Delight accents bring a cheerful pop of brightness, making this card extra fun and celebratory. To add a little sparkle, I brushed Wink of Stella over the balloons, which gives them a subtle shimmer when they catch the light. ✨

Finishing Touches

The sentiment, “Hope your birthday is DINO-mite!” is stamped and heat embossed in white on a Garden Green cardstock banner for a crisp and bold look. To make the sentiment fit perfectly, I used the Stylish Shapes banner die and double-cut it to create a shorter label—such a handy trick for customizing your die-cut pieces! The stitched circle behind the dino adds a clean focal point while keeping the design fresh and fun.

Playful Birthday Card for the Global Design Project CASE Challenge

Hello, stamping friends! This week, I’m joining the @GlobalDesignProject challenge, and it’s a CASE the Designer challenge featuring a beautiful card by Janneke de Jong! As soon as I saw her design, I loved the clean layout and soft ink blending, so I used it as inspiration for my playful birthday card. 🐶🎉

Here’s the card I created:

Creating This Card

The One More Year stamp set has the cutest images, and this little party pup stole my heart. I stamped him in Memento Black ink and colored him with Stampin’ Blends, adding some shading for extra dimension. His party hat needed a little pop, so I used bright colors and a touch of Wink of Stella for shimmer. ✨

To CASE Janneke’s design, I focused on the soft ink-blended background, clean layout, and narrow colored borders. I used Pool Party ink with a Blending Brush to create a subtle glow behind my focal image. This technique keeps the design fresh and light while drawing attention to the stamped image.

The Finishing Touches

To frame the card, I added two narrow strips of Ombre glimmer paper along the edges of the front panel and sprinkled gems across the front of the card—just a hint of shine to tie everything together. The sentiment, “Happy Birthday,” is stamped in black for a crisp, bold look. I love how CASE-ing Janneke’s card gave me a chance to put my own playful spin on her elegant design!

Irresistible Blooms Card – GDP384

The sun is finally shining (here in Port Coquitlam) and I’m ready to get out in the garden. While I wait for the warmth of the afternoon I got into my craft room. The card I created today featured the Irresistible Blooms bundle from the new Online Exclusive products!! I used the Global Design Project challenge #384 for my layout.

I used a slightly differnt colour pallette than the Hello, Irresistible DSP. I added Bermuda Bay, Highland Heather and Fresh Freesia to go with the Pretty Peacock DSP background. I love the purples!

In the video I also showed you my original card design – it was nearly identical except for colours. I used Pear Pizzazz ink for the leaves and Flirty Flamingo ink for the blooms.

My Wednesday cards were created using the Happiness Abounds bundle and the Pool Party and Soft Seafoam Cards & Envelopes SAB item.

The SALE-a-bration brochure has some samples using these cards and envelopes – paired with the Splendid Day Suite.

The first card I made was the Soft Seafoam card – featuring some Water Colour blooms – since it is World Water Colour Month.

The second card used Stampin’ Blends and was inspired by Creative Colour Challenges (CCC#44)

Every Wednesday morning I go live on FB and You Tube to create something using the Stampin’ Up! product that I am featuring that week. This Wednesday I created with the Happiness Abounds Bundle – a set I am featuring since I am also hosting a Hues of Happiness Stamp Camp with my team in July – see all the details and register HERE or through the link below.

The card design was inspired by the Global Design Project Colour Challenge (#GDP349).

This quick and easy technique of colouring the background with Stampin’ Blends was something fun I learned at a Stampin’ Up! Demonstrator exclusive Creativity Now event. All Squared Away Sketch Challenge Card

I chose to use the All Squared Away bundle ( which is currently on sale – 20% off) to create a card for the Global Design Project Sketch Challenge (#GDP334).

The colour combo is Just Jade and Flirty Flamingo. I used the DSP from the gorgeous Sweet Symmetry 12X12 DSP.

I love the little touches in this bundle – especially the fun square stamped patterns.

I embellished the card with Brushed Brass Butterflies and the scalloped edge was created using on of the frames from the Scalloped Contour Dies.
