I love making Christmas cards and I especially LOVE this colour combo! Real Red, Old Olive, and Coastal Cabana – thank you Stampin’ Fancy Friday for featuring these colours. My other inspiration for this card was the sketch from Hand Stamped Sentiments sketch challenge (#HSSSC374).

This card includes a ton of colour, techniques, and texture. A card great card really is in the small details. I blended the background and then splattered it with Coastal Cabana ink and Wink of Stella. Then I embossed the top white layer and the Coastal Cabana strip. I inked, cut and layered up the greenery, then I added sheer ribbon, opal rounds and DSP for more interest. I even stamped the envelope – I LOVE a nicely decorated envelope in the mail.

Delicate Dahlias

I created a card today for the Hand Stamped Sentiments colour challenge. These colours are just the perfect colours for a transition between summer to fall.

I chose to stamp the amazing Dahlias using both the photo realistic image and the line drawn images in the stamp set.

Created a quick custom card today for a friend. The request was for a stack of girlfriend cards. I had a few older designs with cocktails and shoes etc… however, I was one card short – so off to my stamping table I happily went.

I never know where to start, so I chose a stamp set and then set off to find a challenge or some other inspiration. Here’s what I found:

Today I was creating a fancy year end card to give to my teaching team (I actually need 3 of them – my cohort partner, my teaching partner and my E.A.) They are all so fabulous! I used two challenges to help give me inspiration.

Party Puffins Birthday Card

This card was created using my FAVOURITE set from the new offerings.

I designed this card for the Colour Challenge at Handstamped Sentiments (HSSCC363)

I even used the Flirty Flamingo Stampin’ Blends and the Dark Daffodil Delight Stampin’ Blends (there isn’t a Bumblebee Blends) to create the orange on the Puffin beak.

Strong and Beautiful Mother’s Day Card

Mother’s Day is approaching ( in just under a month’s time). So today I pulled out a favourite retiring stamp set (Strong and Beautiful) and paired it with a soon to be released new floral set (Colour and Contour). The layout of this card was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Challenge #362.

Some of the finer details that you may not be able to see in this photo are the Dainty Diamonds embossing on the Basic Black cardstock , the coating of Wink of Stella and the fact that the flower was stamped on Shimmery White cardstock. If you want all the details check out the video below.

I LOVE having a reason to create and when I created this card I actually had 3 reasons to make it!

Most importantly – my cousin and his wife just welcomed their first child into the world – Welcome Harriet Batchelor!

Secondly I wanted to participate in two different challenges. The Global Design Project (#GDP286) and the Hand Stamped Sentiments Inspiration Challenge (#HSSIC361).

My third reason to create this card was to highlight some of our soon to be retiring products from Stampin Up! I don’t want to miss out on a minute of playing with some of my favourite supplies. Hey Birthday Chick & other Workshop Cards

I can’t get enough of these chicks!! This weekend I held an online workshop (the live demo was at 9 am Saturday Feb 13th- you can click here to view it). The three cards I created all used the Hey Birthday Chick and Hey Chick bundles.

This first card was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Colour Challenge #357. The Snail Mail DSP was the perfect paper to accent this card.

More Paper Pumpkin Alternatives – Oct 2020 Joy To The World

I have two more Paper pumpkin Alternatives for you today. The first one was inspired by the Hand Stamped Sentiments Sketch Challenge #350. (#HSSSC350)

I added a Crumb Cake cardstock base and stamped Joy using Crumb cake ink all over the background. Then I layered a Cherry Cobbler cardstock piece that was the same size as the larger white embossed piece from the Paper Pumpkin kit ( which was the next layer). Finally I added some vellum cardstock sprigs, the wreath from the kit, the gold foil “Joy” from the kit and some Holiday Rhinestones.

My last alternative for today was a take on an alternative presented in the kit.

I used a piece of Just Jade cardstock. 8.5″ X 5.5″ ( scored at 4.25″) and then I embossed another layer of Just Jade cardstock (4″X 5.25″) using the Tasteful Textiles embossing folder. Next I stamped the wreath image using Just Jade (stamped off) and Cherry Cobbler berries ( stamped off) on a 3″X3″ piece of Whisper White cardstock. Then I stamped the sentiment using Early Espresso ink. I layered the wreath on a tilted piece of Soft Seafoam cardstock ( 3″X 3″). I attached those pieces to the card base using dimensionals. Finally I tied a bow using Braided Linen Trim and attached it to the wreath using a mini dimensional.
