September 2026 Paper Pumpkin – Aspens of Gratitude Unboxing & Alternative Cards

Leave a comment September 23, 2026 Leah Dixon - Stampin Up! Demonstrator

The September Paper Pumpkin has arrived, and today I finally got a chance to open it up and play!

I did my September Paper Pumpkin unboxing LIVE today, and if you missed me live, I’ll be sharing the replay below so you can see everything that came in this month’s box — plus the alternate cards I created.

WATCH THE REPLAY:

For my alternate cards this month, I decided to forget about the kit pieces for a minute and focus on the stamps and ink included in the box.

And I had so much fun making my own DSP!

I started with a piece of Basic White cardstock and repeatedly stamped the leaf images from the Paper Pumpkin stamp set using the Early Espresso Stampin’ Spot included in the kit.

And can we talk about the new Stampin’ Spot design for a minute? I LOVE it! Such a great new design.

Once all of my leaves were stamped, I pulled out my Blending Brushes and added some beautiful fall colour. I used Golden Glow and Pumpkin Pie, with just a touch of Daffodil Delight here and there to brighten everything up. I love the soft look the blending gives the leaves while still letting those Early Espresso outlines really stand out.

Once my handmade DSP was finished, I cut the piece in half diagonally.

That gave me two coordinating pieces to use on two completely different card designs — and meant I could turn one fun stamping session into two alternate Paper Pumpkin cards.

For one card, I kept the focus on that colourful leaf background and added a simple circular sentiment.

For the second, I paired the handmade DSP with lots of texture, a darker stamped focal circle and a simple “thank you so much” sentiment.

I love how different the two cards feel even though they started with exactly the same piece of handmade DSP!

This is one of my favourite things about Paper Pumpkin. Of course you can make the projects exactly as Stampin’ Up! designed them, but once that little box is open, you have stamps and supplies that you can keep playing with again and again.

Get More From Your Paper Pumpkin Kit

Each month I share my Paper Pumpkin unboxing and create alternate projects to give you even more ideas for using your kit. And my Paper Pumpkin subscribers also receive my monthly alternate card tutorial as an extra little thank you from me!

If you haven’t tried Paper Pumpkin yet, it’s such a fun way to have a creative surprise delivered right to your door each month.

And now I’m already wondering what I’ll create with next month’s kit! ❤️

August 2026 Paper Pumpkin – Kindred Greetings Unboxing & Alternative Card

Leave a comment August 17, 2026 Leah Dixon - Stampin Up! Demonstrator

There’s something special about a handmade card with a simple, heartfelt message, and the Kindred Greetings Paper Pumpkin kit is all about sending those thoughtful cards when they’re needed most.

If you missed my Paper Pumpkin live, the replay is now available! In the video, I walk through the three beautiful card designs included in the kit and share some tips for putting them together.

Watch the Kindred Greetings Paper Pumpkin Replay, I’ll walk you through assembling all three of the kit’s original card designs while sharing tips and tricks along the way. Whether you have the kit sitting on your craft table waiting to be opened or you’re simply looking for some card-making inspiration, I hope you’ll enjoy crafting along with me!

🎥 Watch the replay here:

For my alternate design, I stepped away from the original card layouts and paired the Kindred Greetings stamp set with the Botanical Expressions Dies.

I used the Botanical Expressions Dies to create the beautiful leafy background, keeping the overall card soft and monochromatic. I also added a little 2nd generation stamping speckle to the stamped foliage and some delicate butterfly embellishments for a touch of whimsy.

I love how changing the layout and adding a few supplies from my craft room can give a Paper Pumpkin kit a completely different look!

The card base was scored at 2″, 3-1/8″, 5-3/8″ and 6-1/2″ (which is not what I said in the video – sorry!)

One of my favourite things about Paper Pumpkin is discovering just how far you can stretch the supplies. You can follow the instructions exactly as designed, or use the exclusive stamps and pieces to create something completely your own.

If you’re a Paper Pumpkin subscriber with me, you also receive an exclusive PDF tutorial featuring the Paper Pumpkin stamp set. It’s my way of giving you even more ideas for using those exclusive stamps long after you’ve finished the kit projects.

October 2025 Paper Pumpkin – Cozy Christmas Unboxing & Alternative Ideas

Leave a comment October 20, 2025 Leah Dixon - Stampin Up! Demonstrator

If you love cozy, classic Christmas designs, you’re going to adore the October 2025 Paper Pumpkin Kit – Cozy Christmas! This month’s kit includes everything you need to create beautifully coordinated Christmas cards with traditional colors, flocked accents, and festive greetings.

In my video and blog today, I’m sharing:
✨ My unboxing of the Cozy Christmas kit
🎁 The three original card designs
🌟 Three alternative cards I created using the leftovers from the kit

For my alternatives, I used:

Gold Striped Mesh Ribbon
Forever Plaid 3D Embossing Folder
Cherry Cobbler Ink
Blending Brush
Stylish Shapes Dies
Abundant Joy add-on dies
Traditional Sparkling Sequins (I didn’t use these – but a great alternative if you run out of the kit sequins)

For my alternatives, I played with textures, layers, and a touch of shimmer:

The **JOY card** features a fun stencil technique! I used the negative frames from the die-cut letters and a **blending brush** to softly blend the letters onto the extra frame.

I used second generation ink to stamp the snowflakes on the die cut circle and I finished this card with gold striped mesh **ribbon** for a festive sparkle.

The background is embossed with the Forever Plaid 3D embossing folder. The **green leaves** come from the **Abundant Joy die add-on**, adding extra depth and dimension.

Whether you stick with the original designs or create your own alternatives, this kit is perfect for spreading handmade joy this holiday season.

✨ Want to get even more from your kit?
If you subscribe through me, you’ll also receive a free 10-project PDF tutorial each month. This tutorial is sent out to my Paper Pumpkin subscribers after the 25th of every month—perfect for keeping the creativity going. Below is a peek at last months tutorial bundle.
