I created a fun Counting Sheep card tonight using a sketch from Freshly Made Sketchs (#FMS502). These adorable sheep and the dies are both FREE Sale-a-bration items. For every $60 cdn order placed you can earn a fabulous reward.

I created a nearly identical card, using Poppy Parade Blends instead of Magenta Madness. I can’t decide which I prefer.

The shimmery clouds and balloons are a special touch to the card.

The look was created by using the scraps from my Wonderful Snowflakes to die cut the clouds and balloons. I can’t stand wasting such pretty paper – not even a scrap. The spaces left would also make great flowers or snowflakes.

Colourful Beautifully Penned DSP

I LOVE the gorgeous Black and White Beautifully Penned DSP that Stampin’ Up! is offering as a FREE reward during Sale-a-bration – but it also lends itself beautifully to having a splash of colour added to it. Today’s card was inspired by a sketch challenge and a post that Stampin’ Up! put on their FB page.

All I did to create this fun look is cut the DSP into 4 1″ X 4″ strips. Then I added some ink with blending brushes and splattered some reinker over top. Flirty Flamingo with a splash of Poppy Parade, So Saffron with a splash of Calypso Coral, Pear Pizzazz with a splash of Bermuda Bay, words in Balmy Blue, Highland Heather with a splash of Highland Heather. Then i filled in spaces with the squirrel from Nuts About Squirrels and some Pastel Pearls.

Beautifully Penned Treat Bag

These adorable treat bags were so quick to create. I used the Sale-a-bration Freebie – Beautifully Penned DSP to make the base and the decoration for the tag. I’ve got dimensions listed below and you can check out my video below for even more details.

To make this bag you will need a piece of 6″ x 6″ piece of Designer Series Paper – for your first make it’s probably easier to use a pattern that has no specific direction!

You will need to score the DSP as follows:

Score at 1 3/8″
Turn paper clockwise
Score at 1 3/8″ (only to the score line)
Score at 2 3/4″
Score at 4 1/8″ (only to the score line)
Score at 5 1/2″

As you can see below the bag will be quite small – just big enough for 2 Halloween sized chocolate bars. Perfect as a table favour, small thank you to give someone, or school treats for holidays.

The label just has a small flower fussy cut from the Beautifully Penned DSP as decoration and a simple sentiment.

In Your Words Sympathy card

I love the variety of sentiments in this stamp set. Unfortunately I have needed too many sympathy cards this summer – however this stamp set has helped put words on a card when I just can’t find the right ones to say.

The card base is a piece of Basic Black cardstock ( 11″ x 4-1/4″, scored at 5-1/2″) with a white insert so you can write in the card.

The front was created by sponging Misty Moonlight Ink onto a Mint Macaron piece of cardstock (4″ X 5-1/4″). Then I used a water painter to spray Night of Navy Ink onto the background. Once this was dry I used a wet paintbrush to pick up some White Pigment Ink and spray it across the card front.

Let the white ink dry as well. Then I stamped my sentiment using Versamark Ink and heat embossed it with Black Stampin’ Emboss Powder. I added a tree, die cut from Basic Black cardstock (with adhesive sheet on the back) using the Majestic Mountain dies. I applied the tree to the cardstock, tied a piece of Black twine around twice and made a bow. Finally I used Tear and Tape to adhere the whole piece to the Basic Black card base. Embellish with Rhinestones as you wish.

To save some time (and a bunch of clean up) you can actually prepare a whole sheet of Mint Macaron cardstock with the blending and spraying. Then cut it into 4 pieces once it is dry.

In Your Words Harvest Meadow Card

It may still be summer – but my favourite season- Autumn is coming! Pool Party and Calypso Coral are the perfect colours to ease the transition from summer fun to cool autumn days. This card was created using a card sketch from Global Design Project (#GDP306).

A few of the details that make this card pop are the masking in the background using a Paper Lattice piece, the embossing and fussy cutting of the main word and the glimmer from both the Flirty Flamingo metallic ribbon as well as the Pale Papaya In Colour Jewels. Peaceful Prints Noel

Today I created a card using the bold Playful Alphabet Dies and the gorgeous Peaceful Prints DSP. This is the perfect combo since the purchase of the Alphabet Dies, Black and White Gingham Ribbon, and Matte Black Dots earns you the DSP for FREE right now!

I also love a good no stamping card once in a while. These are perfect to put together in front of the TV – I don’t need to worry about dropping an ink pad.

To put this card together, I cut a piece of 4″ X 5-1/4″ DSP, then I cut it at the 2-1/4″ mark. I flipped the top half over and glued both DSP pieces to a Real Red card base (8-1/2″ X 5-1/2″, scored at 4-1/4″). Then I die cut the letters NOEL in a piece of 1-3/4″ X 3-3/4″ Basic White cardstock. I tied a ribbon around the bottom of the white outline piece and attached it to the card front with Dimensionals. I finished off the card by embellishing with Matte Black Dots.

Quick and easy!

Peaceful Prints DSP Gift Bag

For some of you it may be too early to think about Christmas – but I actually try to get the bulk of my Christmas cards made in the summer when I have time to enjoy the creative process. Then I can use the holidays to just spend time with friends and family. Right now I have even more reason to play with Christmas product – the 2nd part of Sale-a-bration 2021 is happening right now! I am usually a Designer Series Paper hoarder – but I am running out of room on my shelves, so time to start crafting with it. During my weekly FB live today I demonstrated how to create this sweet gift bag – perfect for holding some handmade cards or a fabulous little gift.

To create the bag you simply need 2 pieces of DSP (any size 6X6 – 12X12 will do) I used a 10X10 pieces.

Then I scored the top edges at 1-1/2″ and I scored the other 3 edges of each piece at 2″.

Next I cut out the two bottom squares on one of my pieces. and I cut the two bottom score lines on the other piece.

Glue the two pieces together at the bottom flap, and then fold up the box and glue the sides together.

To create the cute label on the bag I used the largest Seasonal Label Die, the Peaceful Deer stamp set for the sentiment and the Deer Punch and Peaceful Prints DSP for the images. You’ll have to watch my video to see the trick I used to punch out the reverse deer image. It’s brilliant!

Penguin Playmates Birthday Card

The card uses just a few pieces:

Fresh Freesia cardbase: 8.5″ X 5.5, scored at 8.25″

Penguin Playmates DSP: 2 pieces 1″ X 5.5″

Basic White cardstock: 2.25″ X 5.5″ and a scrap for the balloon if you want to pop it up

You can watch the video below for all the details – but here are the two tips I shared today.

Use blends to colour the Playing With Patterns Resin Dots so they coordinate with the Penguin Playmates DSP.

The small balloon in the retired Balloon Punch coordinates with the balloon in the Penguin Place stamp set.

I am also really happy with how the bow turned out. I rarely have such great success tying a bow on screen! You have to check it out.
